Hc on when aven first become an employee of IPC? He said he did not go to school so I assume he’s illiterate, must be stressful as hell getting used to a megacorp working environment right away.
he had to had become a ipc after he met jade, so around late teens? & i'm sure she was the person who groomed him into a competent businessman bc it's basically confirmed by her voicelines that she prefers to polish the roughest gems, aventurine being her magnum opus. but yeah i can't imagine how hard that was since they had to teach him how to read, write, math, business etiquette, etc. i think his job being so luck based is why he was able to rise up quickly to a stoneheart - there's nobody better at that than him

uh no? ppl cooked op for that thread bc it was stupid & made to give churin pity points by reaching hard into a innocuous quote. they didn’t just cook them in personal defense of topaz lol. the general consensus was simply that it was not that deep & op was trying to garner sympathy for churin thru a harmless exchange- vilifying topaz in the process

as for gege, he’s a mixed bag for me right now lol. i think the dude has a serious talent for themes & concepts and connections like i don’t really necessarily disagree with his writing decisions all the time bc i can understand why he did it & why it serves the overarching theme he set in place. i generally… just despise his execution most of the time lol. especially bc wsj pacing always has the problem of feeling breakneck in itself, but it really does feel like he runs into his shock value way too often for me & it’s very deliberate lol. he wants the payoff from some of these reveals too quickly (megukuna & megumis sister twist happening within like 2 chps lol) so basically he’s cooking too damn fast. he also hides his arsenal behind flashbacks so readers can’t scrutinize & say he retconned something. he’s sneaky lol. and yanno what? he gets by because it’s entertainment but at this point in time i just feel like he’s glossed over too many narrative beats that would’ve been bangers had he not wanted to skip to the “twist”

Do you think the raturine hype will decrease as soon as we move out of Penacony or are fujos too stuck in their bubble to care? The damage this ship has done on Ratio and Aven's characters is irreversible. If I have to see Aven wanting the kawaii buttsecks from shy tsun Ratio I'm punching the walls.
lmaoooo i feel you bc i had the same thought. it will definitely die down & that's inevitable bc we've already seen this happen with popular gi ships (& even hsr ones) in the past. with no food, fujo attention span will start to shift to the next new & shiny & then that is usually what separates the dedicated to the fotm fujos. if the content drought is longer than a year, we might have another zhongchi on our hands too - so that'd be funny to witness! but yeah the general discourse surrounding aventurine & his ships will probably be mild by like fall (if we're lucky & there is nothing else as controversial as 2.3 has been LOL)

If you don’t think Paz is as naive and is at least somewhat aware of Jade’s dealings, even if not knowing the full extent, do you think she is cautious around her despite seemingly happy when she’s around?
eeeh not really? i think paz sincerely trusts jade & genuinely believes she wants the best for her based on her voicelines & just overall puppydog admiration for her. no reason for her to feel cautious, only numby seems to be weary of jade lol. and well she's not wrong to think that? jade seems to legit care about her with no ulterior motives besides polishing her future as a ipc tool

That's the point, if Genshin can only be good when its endgame and over then...its not good. HSR has similar flaws of setting shit up and then leaving it hanging but Genshin moving slow as molasses doesn't help. There's no stakes even in the archon quest or with any regional conflicts because I know it will easily be revealed. The majority should not be filler and its hard to care about the lore when its so damn slow.

Do you think Paz is blinded by Jade, or she knows more than she acts?
i lean more towards 'she's blinded' than not tbh. in the beginning of the quest topaz warns a npc to not call 'boss jade' or something like that, which implies that she Does know what pisses her off & has probably seen her get mad at her grunts. but i really don't think she's aware of the extent to manipulative jade is. otherwise jade would be comfortable to keep her around during the discussion w/ oti. she specifically says she didn't want topaz to see that side of her mentor - the manipulative, money hungry hustler side.
frankly, i don't think topaz is THAT naive as to not know what she does in the bonajade store because she Does know what jade's stone does afterall. but it's very likely she doesn't know how fucked up those contracts/wishes she makes with people are. aventurine probably does though.
