as for gege, he’s a mixed bag for me right now lol. i think the dude has a serious talent for themes & concepts and connections like i don’t really necessarily disagree with his writing decisions all the time bc i can understand why he did it & why it serves the overarching theme he set in place. i generally… just despise his execution most of the time lol. especially bc wsj pacing always has the problem of feeling breakneck in itself, but it really does feel like he runs into his shock value way too often for me & it’s very deliberate lol. he wants the payoff from some of these reveals too quickly (megukuna & megumis sister twist happening within like 2 chps lol) so basically he’s cooking too damn fast. he also hides his arsenal behind flashbacks so readers can’t scrutinize & say he retconned something. he’s sneaky lol. and yanno what? he gets by because it’s entertainment but at this point in time i just feel like he’s glossed over too many narrative beats that would’ve been bangers had he not wanted to skip to the “twist”
