I been thinking about this, in aus where wukong is still king of FFM would macaque be considered prince consort or just that guy married to the king? As well as how do the average citizen view him?
Actually! He IS the king of FFM regardless of the aus? Canon-wise he is STILL the monkey king, the title is still present when he goes on his journey and then post journey 🤔
I guess he’d be a prince? That is if he wants to be which i doubt? I think he’d rather just be known as his own title (although King of Shadows does have a nice ring to it)
Any other hobbies you have aside from ur artwork when you don’t feel in the mood to draw to occupy time?
UHHHMMM.. I like.. to watch Masterchef and jot down certain recipes so when I got the ingredients in the future I can try them out. If that counts
Imagine Wukong being plopped in the middle of the ocean and seeing a humpback whale
Uh a win-win he sees a new animal AND gets a free ride? Incredible 10/10 “THAT was a WHALE? I thought whales died” he’s vibing
What's nezhas first impression of xiaotian, and vice versa, in the revived au? What are their interactions like? (love those lads)
MMMM... this one.. Nezha and Xiaotian first meet by chance when Nezha's waiting for a package delivery from Yin and Xiaotian is waiting for Jin about information on the Undercity's most wanted. They both end up standing next to each other and it's an awkward silence up until Xiaotian laughs and gestures towards two demons fighting over a faulty artifact one sold the other. Nezha chuckles then watches in amusement as Xiaotian escalates the fight by flicking a small pebble at one of the demons and they go into a full on brawl.
Nezha laughs and leans back against the wall and they both introduce each other (with aliases ofc) and they have a pretty neutral interaction here but they run into each other here and there and become somewhat good friends!
Until Nezha learns Xiaotian mentors under Macaque :D
what other shows were u into like u are with lmk?
I GUESSSS…. Uhhhhh… fucking Slugterra and Ben10.. actually you can see the Ben 10 influence on my God!Swk design lmao
this is kinda random and not lmk related but, were u ever into bungou stray dogs??
100% yes my faves were all SKK gens (fuku/mori, dazai/chuuya, atsushi/akutagawa), Tecchou, Kenji and Tanizaki
Random but what convinced you to do art?
And also where do you get your brushes , THEY’RE SO PRETTY
I make’em myself! Made 80% of my brushes and then the rest came from a friend (and my twin iirc)
What are some of the behaviors that the cute lil sprite things exhibit? Like what’s their temperament?
Well Guang Shen and Yan Shen share features similar to their hosts — Guang Shen is more playful and Yan Shen is a bit more rowdy, surprisingly the light spirit is calmer than the two of them and the smoke spirit’s the one that always bites others
Other than that, they’re pretty much like catdogs
What do you think of the idea of swk…with predator mandibles like the one from the movie?
I think it should be a more common feat. It’s neat :D
you’ve mentioned the undercity in your au’s a couple of times, may i ask what is it? (is it like the underworld?)
Mmm, not quite! It’s basically the Demon Realm’s biggest area. In S2’s Special (Revenge of the Spider Queen) Red Son has to create a sigil to transport him and the others to Heaven and I got the idea that the Demon Realm (or Undercity) could be accessed just the same. The Undercity’s huge, composed of four districts (North, South, East, West) with the North and West being the harsher areas full of fights and there’s less jurisidiction. The Undercity’s run by a small council: 7 Great Sages
They all make sure each portal to the Undercity’s kept under control, try to maintain the population at an even level, protect the Undercity, etc. They dubbed SWK their champion and the reputation follows him even 1000 years later. It’s a heavily dangerous place, the Undercity, and it’s heavily encouraged for humans/mortals to not enter mostly due to them, y’know, dying easily.
are you single?
Im singlehandedly ruining my life
Oh my gods I adore your characterization of Wukong so much im safkljdsa-- do you think you could word vomit about his specific relationships with other characters as well? Reading your stuff gives me so much serotonin cause you characterize everyone so good I swear
absolutely!
[Peacherines]
Wukong and Xiaotian have a slightly different dynamic for me: Sun Wukong is a lot more relaxed around Xiaotian than others realize, he lets some masks slip off when the human's around him since he sees himself in the boy, so naturally he feels a bit at ease while also trying to guide him in a right direction (history repeating itself? not in his watch). When Xiaotian starts developing more of Wukong's powers, he decides to teach Xiaotian to embrace the demon half of himself that's starting to grow within him. Tell me Qi Xiaotian is fully human after his body gets used to absorbing Wukong's powers—trick question, you can't because we've seen him endure incredible hits and although Wukong knows how hard to hit so Xiaotian doesn't get hurt, it's pretty impressive that he can get out of a rockslide unbruised.
It's implied in the show that they hang out enough for Wukong and Xiaotian to know where they're going and the whole "we don't keep any secrets from each other" from Xiaotian in S3 was very sweet so I like to show them off hanging around each other just casually, not even for training sometimes, just having fun and Wukong takes Xiaotian to other places in the city that Xiaotian didn't even know were owned by demons or spirits. It's fun!

WUKONG AND XIAOJIAO!! MY FAVORITE FATHER-DAUGHTER DUO!
I started an AU with them called Mamma Mia AU where Wukong adopts Xiaojiao and yada yada but then tumblr nuked it so I restarted with Revived AU — these two are my favorite for so many reasons.
Wukong has a habit of not wanting to accept help from others and Xiaojiao is there to ground him a bit; She's able to see through him sometimes and manages to summarize his thoughts easier than most others. Wukong says "no" and Xiaojiao tells him all the reasons why he should say "yes" instead and he buckles down not because he's annoyed at the fact she's right but because she's this sort of comfort for him. There's guilt in the fact he was the cause for the ring being stored inside her but the two help each other out with that aspect of their lives, Wukong addresses his mistakes and Xiaojiao shakes his hand before dragging him to a video game contest between the two of them. I also imagine they play pranks a lot on most people, just silly bonding.
Not to mention Wukong can use a little more of his strength against her and Xiaojiao can equally throw a rocket at him and he'll just cough.
[Lotus Blossoms]
MY FUCKING FAVORITE FATHER-SON DYNAMIC!!! YEAH!!! THIS!! THEM!! THE DUO!! THE OG!!
Nezha and Wukong have a closer relationship than most people realize from how much they seem to argue or disagree with things but in reality Nezha's just stubborn and doesn't want to admit he admires Wukong and missed him when he had to stay and guard the map for so long. Tying it to Journey to the West, Wukong and Nezha had the closest relationship with each other than they did with other gods, the youth immortal eager to help Wukong with tasks and even laughing alongside him when he joked.
Nezha doesn't have a good relationship with his father or his brothers (killed them and nearly killed his dad while his father drove him to die before getting revived again) so he was hesitant to accept Wukong as a father figure but definitely grew closer to him overtime. He's not very vocal like Wukong but he can get his message across in one or two words much to everyone's amazement.
They have a close bond and Nezha makes a face when people try to make fun of Wukong and then glares at Wukong for allowing it. They're fun! Very protective of each other.
[Mercury Bombs]
Wukong: what's better than one demon?
Wukong: [holds up Yin and Jin] TWO DEMONS!!
I don't have MUCH on them yet but I do adore the idea of Yin and Jin trying to con Wukong and instead getting conned themselves, they try very hard to trick Wukong and almost get away with it but the Sage manages to see through it easily. He basically teaches them how to survive and the further how to fight since thye don't seem to be able to throw a good punch for the life of them — he invites them to dinner sometimes and it's an Uncle and Nephew dynamic for them :D
word vomit everything u can to me about ur swk pls (i love him)
[SHARP INHALE]
The first thing you need to know about my Lego Sun Wukong is that he is unhinged — he's unhinged and stupidly smart in ways he shouldn't be but he is and, quite possibly, is one of the smartest beings in the universe not because he knows what x + y is but because he learns and learns and learns and learns so much that it's baffling why he hasn't shown skills of that yet in the Show but I digress
My Sun Wukong is also.. visibly and physically and mentally and emotionally tired. I love the show a lot but something I always found odd was how they never quite show Wukong on his own, without an audience watching him. And, granted, I do know that Xiaotian is the protagonist of the show but we've had segways and moments of Xiaojiao, Pigsy, Tang, Sandy and even Macaque and Red Son on their own but never Wukong? So I imagine behind all those smiles and fake attitude and the "i'm retired, ok?" he's.. actually fucking tired from being blamed for everything, for ruining everything for being called to action for everything, for being the first person people glare at when they ask "who broke this?" and it sucks — he's just tired.
Smaller bits of trivia:
He lives in a temple rather than the mansion inside the waterfall—well, kind of! The mansion's actually mostly magic—it spreads to the entirety of the mountain and each room leads further and further down into the temple until you're on the other side of the island and closer to the city where Xiaotian and the others live! yeah :D
He's a gardener; he managed to replant and recover all the damage done to Flower Fruit Mountain when it was burnt down and he has this strong appreciation for nature. He respects it so much he mourned the mountain's "death" before putting himself to work. He keeps a garden on his temple and tends to the flowers daily.
He can cook. Because he has no other choice; he houses wayward spirits or lost yaoguai (demons) that tend to be the size of the mountain monkeys or sometimes smaller and they accept only cooked food from him. So he learned to cook until it stopped being spat back in his face and when Nezha moves in to live with him he's pleasantly surprised when Wukong hands him something edible and, gasp, actually good????? incredible
Wukong trained himself in various weaponry, not just long-arm weapons. When he saw he could shapeshift the staff into various things, including other weapons, he wondered if he could.. y'know.. perhaps wield a sword and see if it would work better this time than the others. He's a curious person, yknow, and I doubt he's the BEST at every weapon he shifts the staff into but Wukong's the intelligent stone monkey for a reason and I love to think he'd be capable of using a crossbow :D
scars scars scars scars scars all over!! and tattoos :D
opposite to Macaque's smoke which makes people sleep and allows him to enter their dreams, Wukong's smoke brings life to beings and it can expand better if used via a wind instrument such as the Dizi (flute)! The song he plays for the mountain coats it in this sunset-like color and it blends wonderfully when the sun rises over the horizon, meaning he wouldnt have to glamor anything and everyone would assume it's just an effect of the light shining from the sun
gamer swk real because his VA games a ton
genderfluid + aroace mlm with a specific taste in Liu'er Mihou aka the Six-Eared Macaque aka bitch emo boy that keeps eating his snacks at 10am
dad. father. dad shaped. i dont make the rules sorry he literally adopted an entire group of monkeys and they all excited called themselves the Sun Family and he loved them so so much why did they have to die why did th- come on now
in one of your animatics video thing u used a spanish voice for wukong, how come??
THAT is his Latin Dub VA (Manuel Campuzano) and let me tell you.. the man does such a good job with him and although the LMK dubbing could be a little less stiff (they say Eme-Kah for MK instead of Xiaotian but they say Monkey King the english way??? Idk man anyways)
Look at him hes great
