I don't know of you've answered this before. But I'm curious! What are your favorite tropes?
Oh, I love talking about tropes!!! I'm really drawn to narratives that dig into complex emotions, unresolved feelings, and tension simmering just beneath the surface!
Some of my favorite tropes are the kind that pull you into a whirlpool of emotional turmoil such as:
Friends with Benefits: The push-and-pull dynamic here is so satisfying, especially when both characters catch feelings and neither wants to admit it. It’s the quiet yearning, the stolen glances, and the unspoken words that add layers of delicious angst. There's something so tragic about being so close but still feeling like you're miles apart emotionally.
Exes to Lovers: Honestly, this is gold when done right! All that baggage from their past relationship? The lingering hurt and confusion? They’ve already broken each other’s hearts, but they still gravitate back because they just can’t let go. The emotional stakes are sky-high, and I love every second of it!
Roommates: The forced proximity in this trope really sets up for angst overload when it starts from a dynamic as innocent as roommates. There’s something about sharing a space with someone who starts to mean more to you, and you can’t escape the slow build of feelings that come with seeing them day in and day out. It's intimate in a quiet, tension-filled way, and that slow-burn is to die for.
Anything Angsty, Really: Unrequited love, missed chances, miscommunication—I'm here for it all. The tension that comes from emotions that are messy and tangled just pulls me in every time. I love watching characters struggle with their feelings, wondering if they’ll ever figure out how they actually feel (or admit it!). There’s something so cathartic about seeing characters go through all that pain before finally finding happiness.
The common thread in all these tropes? The angst. I thrive on characters being emotionally messy, pushing each other away even though they desperately want to be closer, and eventually having their emotional walls break down in the most satisfying way. It’s all about that buildup of tension and release, and I can't get enough of it!

do you have any irrational fears??
For me, it's ironically cats and dogs. It’s funny (and maybe a bit odd) considering how much I enjoy writing hybrids, often involving animal traits, and here I am, actually afraid of the very animals my hybrid characters are based on.
Dogs, in particular, make me nervous. There was this one time I had to mute someone who I didn't even follow but they're moots with my moots and they just used endless dog gifs. I didn’t want to seem rude, but the constant flood of them made my skin crawl. It's just one of those irrational things I can't quite explain.
And cats, well, there's a specific cat gif that one of my moots uses, and every single time it appears in my feed, I get literal chills. It’s not like I dislike cats or dogs per se, but there’s just something about the unpredictability of animals that unnerves me. It’s weird because, like I said, I love writing characters that have these animalistic traits, yet I have this deep-seated fear of the real-life versions. Life is full of strange contradictions like that, I guess.

I’m so glad you love it!! The thought of ballerina Yeosang with idol boyfriend Wooyoung is so!!! Just imagine him twirling around, graceful and precise, while Wooyoung watches from the crowd, probably getting way too excited and accidentally knocking over a chair or dropping his phone or something, The full thing is a oneshot and it’s going to be all soft vibes and supportive energy with Wooyoung acting like a total dad showing up to a kid's recital!! 💕✨

Hello~ Oh gosh, I actually had to put that one on hold because of the time I, uh, fell off a balcony... if you were on my twt at the time you would remember how late-night drinking and writing led to my fall into the bushes below my balcony (not my finest moment). I found out later I had a concussion, which led to that month long hiatus I took shortly after the fall, so naturally, the fic took a backseat while I was recovering! But now that you've reminded me... I’m hoping to get back to it soon >:) Thanks for being so patient and for even remembering it!! 🥹❤️

You caught me... I'm a fic snob... Not in a mean way, but because I spend so much time writing and proofreading my own stories that I just hardly have any energy left to read... I do read fics though but they need to really pull me in with the summary/tags provided! And when I do find something that hits all the right notes oh, it’s magic. ✨

the way u write snsng in so many of ur fics is sooo so beautiful i can feel the love u have for them as a pair, it genuinely makes me feel fuzzy inside.. idk if you’ve listened/read the lyrics to heaven bymitski but thats how i imagine them when i read how u write them in love :( just so achingly sweet
Oh my gosh, this just made my day. 🥹 Yes, I’m so in love with Sansang as a pairing, it’s ridiculous. Their dynamic just melts my heart, and I’m so glad you can feel that when reading! I know exactly what you mean about Heaven by Mitski!! I love that song, and the way it captures this soft, bittersweet love is exactly the vibe I want for them. That’s what I aim for when I write their softer moments: love that feels like a quiet, deep ache that somehow comforts you with it's familiarity. Thank you so much for this!!!
