hi nina! i’ve been reading your works and i love them so much!! but there’s this one that i couldn’t quite forget and i just wanted to share this now. when “light a fire (that cannot die)” was first posted, i cannot stop thinking about it. it haunted me! although it was a cliffhanger, there’s this part of me that thinks it didn’t end well for them. i cried a lot thinking jimin didn’t survive and how minjeong have to live without her.
now i always think about it when evermore plays. idk why i associated that song to the story but it feels kinda fitting, especially the bridge, it’s so minjeong!! “it was real enough, to get me through” like she was imagining jimin was still there just to get through and then the “but i swear, you were there” was jimin really there? did she survive? or just an imagination? then that hopeful “i had a feeling so peculiar, this pain wouldn't be for evermore” minjeong finally finding peace. AAAAA
omg, first of all i'm big on tswift associatism but it never occured me to connect light a fire that cannot die with evermore but it fits soooo well! (and i cant believe i didn't gray novembered this gray november at all but rest assured i hey decembered a lot every since this ask) secondly, i truly believe in the death of the author so you are sooo legit thinking jimin didn't survive but i'm a sap and a sucker for happy endings and in my head jimin survived the hunger games and they live their very miserable life in the village of the winners and the lines "I had a feeling so peculiar/ this pain wouldn't be for/ evermore" fits into it stilll bc even if everything is fucked up still, they got each other and that must count for something, right? also i love seeing different perspectives of the ending bc when i started writing the story i knew i wanted to leave the ending open as for me it fit with the whole vibe of the fic better even though i knew it wouldn't be a "popular" choice to say. so it makes me happy to see different endings from what i would come up anyway and jm isn't surviving, while devastating, still soooo deliciously angsty !!!
