hi omg as a film student i just wanted to say that this role fits mimo so well i have my own film crew role assignments to skiz but I couldn't figure out what to give for mimo, jsng and hynjn but the mimo one rly hit the spot omg

not sure how it works on bigger productions but at least on student/indie level productions the assistant cinematographer position is officially called AC (Assistant Camera) and and there's usually a '1st AC' role that i think mimo fits in with a lot and they're mainly tasked with 'pulling focus' aka adjusting the focus so things.. stay in focus lol

so to explain how it works theres this contraption they attach to the camera's focus ring that can be calibrated and wirelessly controlled to adjust the focus so that the main person operating the camera can focus on moving the camera and the 1st AC can pull focus remotely and doesn't need to physically be next to the camera to allow for more mobility

so 1st ACs are usually off to the side somewhere with their own monitor and their little wireless controller solely just to focus pull (but also the Assistant Camera crewmembers all kind of help out with camera-related stuff like switching or cleaning lenses, things like that)

i feel like the 1st AC role is so crucial but not super talked about?? they're just this stable rock of consistent focus (haha get it) and of course it's impressive when the camera is moving like crazy and the focal points are of varying distances so the 1st AC has to stay on top of all that and focus pull accurately in those snappy moments, BUT ALSO during veryyy very slow camera tracks/dollies 1st ACs have to maintain a steady consistent focus in pace with the camera's motion; but yea otherwise focus pulling often goes unnoticed like,, you won't realise what you've lost until it's gone kind of?

(this is all my personal take on it btw i mainly work in the sound department and i have a rough idea of how the camera dept works but ive been on several sets to rly Feel the dynamic yehe; completely unrelated but jsyk chngbin is in the sound department bc The Vibes said so)

OK JARGON ASIDEEE yes like this steady stability is So Mimo. like,, translates from his solid dance basics and consistent habits (like PT and lessons and stuff) and how he's this quiet, reliable presence in skz (both character and skill wise),, and when the moment calls for it mimo can really up the ante and let loose like when he goes Really Hard at the final chorus or in particular performances like ch4rmer stages or kngd0m shin ddu3 (and many other instances)

it'd be so cute to have mimo just snapping quick pics :')) 1st ACs are usually bustling about bc the busiest department on a film set is always the camera department (no movie being made if the camera isn't rolling and all that) and the camera crew are usually separate from the actors but sometimes there r lulls when the art department are setting up/cleaning the set or of course during meal breaks (again not sure about big budget productions since actors usually have trailers/a separate space for themselves) but yea these smaller intimate moments,,,

mimo fondgazing through the monitor as he pulls focus on jsng and his heart twitches a little when jsng's face comes into crystal-sharp clarity on the monitor and his does eyes are so clear and so big and pretty on mimo's little screen, when the cinematographer jokingly scolds mimo that his focus pulling was just a tad bit late because mimo was too busy fondgazing to adjust the focus elsewhere because his focus will always be on jsng,, AAAA
