Is it loyalty a matter of will?

There is pseudo-loyalty, E.g.- if you have it/show it because you feel like you have no other choice, like if someone "owns" you.

No, loyalty like any other type of attachment is not a matter of will. It is an emotional reaction in a social context. Influenced by individual and social needs. Therefore it is independent of our will. We might believe we have a choice but in reality it is hard to get out of that sort of entanglement.

Kinda, its a mixture of self-discipline and having someone who its easy to be loyal for (i.e. no sense looking at hamburgers when you have steak at home).
