Do you invest in stocks? Why/why not?

Yessir. Only £1000 and its up 5.78% right now. I've done it because I've now got a rainy day and emergency fund (6 month of salary) and a pot of money for when I get a car. So I'm now entering disposable income territory. I'm thinking about investing more, but going into index funds going forward. But I do have other investments such as a private pension of sorts (government gives me a grand plus compound interest if I put in 4K a year), its really been a focus of mine as of late to be maximise what my money can do for me all while keeping the risks relatively low - at least until I gain more confidence in investing. How about yourself are you interested in doing it?
