OP characters which is currently one of my biggest fears

One of my characters, Fausto, is a trainer who’s been traveling region to region battling gym leaders and so of course I want to write him winning but I don’t wanna write it in a way that makes him seem unbeatable but definitely someone people will have a struggle with! Although I do think some OP characters can be written very nicely if done right!
