The simple answer to this question: probably not. I never had crushes when I was young. There isn't someone I need in my life, and I think that comes across fairly obviously with the way I write love! Love is always a choice for the characters, and they actively choose to make it every time.

The long answer to this question: it's complicated. Haha. Sexuality is something very nebulous for me. That's not to say I don't recognize when someone is attractive, but it's pretty easy for me to distinguish attraction and love. Distinguishing romantic love is harder. It is way easier to write romantic love because it is always a given in stories. Real life has no such absolutes.

So, no. I haven't really been in love, romantically. But I am in love with the people around me who care about me, and me them. I have no idea how that might translate to how I write fluff, haha, but clearly, I'm doing something right in my writing! 💜

It depends! (And if I'm being honest, neither of them is that hard to write compared to characters like Nahida and Yae Miko LOL 💜 or characters that I don't write often.) At this point, neither of them is particularly difficult for me to write, but I will still have moments of "oh, they don't feel in-character" or "oh, they would never do this. Now my whole story is messed up." I think those parts are what make writing their characters hard, but at the same time, that's what I feel for all characters haha.

But, I feel I can understand their motivations as characters. And understanding that as well as having a general sense of how they act as people makes it easier for me to get into their characters.

I'm definitely rambling lol, but, to clarify my "it depends" answer, oftentimes it's the person whose POV I'm not writing who's harder to write because while I know what they may be thinking, the readers don't, and it's harder to imply those things when people in general don't say what they mean and are always unreliable narrators. It's harder to write Alhaitham with any sort of emotion because it's so subtle a lot of the time. It's harder to feel I've written Kaveh well because he has so much happening with his character. They've both got their ups and downs so it really depends on the situation they're currently in. 💜

I recently gave away a story to someone on Twitter, and they sent me the idea they wanted me to write a few weeks back. I told them I was busy and would take a while on the outline, and then word vomited the whole story in three days because their idea inspired me so much LOL. I haven't gotten much writing done on it since then, but it's a big one. A chaptered one most likely. Of all the projects I have, that one is the one I'm most excited about.

And honestly? It's very much the kind of story I would write haha. There's no exciting, adventurous plot in it. Nothing too out of the realm of my writing. But it gets me excited because it's a different format from how I usually write, with a big focus on feelings and characters as usual. My hope is to write it similarly to how "Honey, you're familiar" was written and at least get a few people in the feels 💜

I have a close friend group with other creators but none of them are "fandom famous" and for their privacy, I won't disclose who they are. I am good friends with other writers though, but all our interactions are outside of Twitter because I'm a very private person, but also a very busy person.

I don't mind talking and making friends though! My DMs are open as long as no one goes in and does some funny business in there. I'm also much more active elsewhere than I ever have been on Twitter. Twitter simply scares me and exhausts me, and I don't have the bandwidth or security to post personal things about my life on there or even interact with other creators who I'm friends with there 💜

Unfortunately my current wips are both under unofficial NDA 😭😭 so I can’t ramble too much but I’m almost finished with the one for the fantasy zine!! The other wip I’ll just say is an exes to lovers story and I’m really really excited for it. Going to see if I can break [redacted] word count with the story because my outline is looking that way ✌️but, let’s just say all the “childhood friends to lovers” stories I’ve been reading from my Haikyuu Volleyball Gays have really inspired me to write something of a similar style!!

My favorite trope has always been sickfics or hurt/comfort storylines. Absolute favorite thing is to see characters taking care of each other 💜 Touch-starvation, too, falls in that same category. It’s for that same reason that I have a soft spot for soft omegaverse fics. I love the concept of scenting and nesting 💜

In terms of writing styles, I don’t have many comments other than I am unfortunately not much of a purple prose girlie 🥲 Writing style is the thing that can turn me off of a story the fastest, but also the thing that I find harder to quantify. Sometimes I just don’t vibe with the writing, even if I really wanted to. Admittedly, I am very picky when it comes to writing style, but I will read almost any trope under the sun if I vibe with the story!! 💜 As the saying goes, I am always one good story away from finding a new favorite trope 💜

In terms of authors I recommend… I don’t actually read a lot of specific authors, but almost all of my bookmarks are public and they’re all stories I have enjoyed if you needed fic recommendations!! 💜

Specific authors that come to mind are Babenclaw, Moepuff, and Ae_rynn. They’re all very sweet people and their works are ones I’d recommend always!

Bringingglory and Seelei too I’d recommend, and Moonsteps as well who I recently found out I’ve actually read stuff from them outside of Alhaitham and Kaveh.

Currently, through a recommendation (and if you are 18+), I’ve been reading stories by Daisy_Dupes (again, only if you are 18+). Katraa too in the same vein. Both of their works I’ve liked and the spicy scenes are handled well.

Honestly, I will read just about anything and can give recommendations for a lot of different tropes (but only specifically for Alhaitham and Kaveh) so if you ever wanted to know what I’ve recently read, check my bookmarks 😉

Oooooo omg. Oh my god. Honestly, my overall favorite is probably my hanahaki fic. Hanahaki is a trope I’m really picky about and I’ve rarely ever seen the surgery method actually used (which I always thought was weird). I also think that since it took so long for me to return that story because of all the other stories I was working on at the time, going back to it was exciting. Like returning a close friend.

Idk, I’m just a huge sucker for writing progressions, and that story was all about progression and returning back to what they used to be but better because they both understood each other more. And!!! I’ve said this so many times but returning to being best friends with someone because they matter that much to you? 🥹

I could talk about that story for hours haha. But I will say I usually love most of my stories and can talk about any of them for hours 💜
