He's cold, distant, often sees everyone as less. Gets cruel more often than not and tends to see beings that are not plants as either enemies or tools, or even as toys in few exceptions

The human brain constantly sees things it doesn't comprehend, but since it can't comprehend its shape it just assumes a more familiar one.
You can see eldritch creatures without going crazy if their appeareance is close enough to something vagely coherent
