Math question: is statistics boring? The admission grade requirements for it are the lowest of all courses at my uni.

Seems to depend. Statistics of datasets used in social sciences or biology or where ever a basic statistical analysis is needed and used has relatively easy mathematical foundations but the results are tricky and often highly interesting for an open mind. Also the possible misuse and wrong interpretation of statistical results are an highly non boring field. On the other extreme side there is statistical Physics, statistical Mechanics with demanding math and demanding scientific work. Though that might not be what they teach in beginners courses.
