always love it when tom/voldie just wifes harry up. especially inadvertently, but he's such an opportunistic, social climbing, ambitious, skeevy bastard, of course he's gonna put a ring on it and get to work putting a bun in it too. meanwhile, harry's like, "i hate this man and his stupid fucking handsome face that let's him get away with everything."
Oh my gosh yes. It can happen in an arranged marriage fic, a kidnapping fic, literally anything.
Poor Harry always gets the short end of the stick and everyone always has to let it happen. I mean they can't really fight Voldemort can they? He is either too powerful, too crafty, or will end up killing everyone and everythign to get Harry back (as he should btw).
In the end, Harry gets the family he always wanted right? One big (happy? or not) family.
Also i do love it when the kids love Harry more than Tom. Sure they take after him in some ways. They can be a little more cruel than other children, but after a few stern talking tos from Harry, they know to not do that. Do they WANT to cause harm and torment people? yes of course. But it would make Harry upset so they don't.
Poor Harry has to live with kids with fucked up morals but at least they listen to him.
and Hell will seem like a walk in the park compared to the fool who dares to hurt Harry. His children, his husband would tear the earth apart in their vengeance and fury.
I couldn't help again but keep thinking that the horcruxes were underutilized as a concept. But then my random theorizing merged with Harrymort tropes and ARGH. Like, imagine if the horcruxes were not only immortality anchors but also magic boosters? Essentially, Tom/Voldie splits his soul and the horcrux is placed in a magically rich (and emotionally significant) location to absorb magic power and transmit through the soul sliver to the main soul. Except the fact that Harry's a walking, talking human changes the game. Harry can't quite absorb magic like the item horcruxes can, but through the scar and his magical core, he's practically a portable, renewable magical source. So when Voldie discovers this fact after the MoM possession, he gets some ideas -- it's two birds with one stone. Meanwhile, Harry doesn't understand why he feels more and more tired; all he wants to do is sleep, and it's better that he does with his magic being so volatile. Meanwhile Scarcrux is working hard to make some sweet dreams to keep Harry docile, asleep, and both out of Dumbledore's plans and vulnerable for kidnapping.
I'm gonna write this one day. Maybe. Or maybe it'll be like that Spongebob screencap of the illuminated word "The" on a blank page of paper. But I needed to share this with someone! OTL
the odd thought just hit me that, if asked why he hates quidditch, tom/voldie would probably have the same hang-ups about it as most common-sense muggles. (wtf are the rules? great idea to have a sport so high up in the air, you can't see a thing [i don't need glasses, silence], the whole concept of the seeker is the stupidest thing because at least the others make sense -- goalscorers, defenders, keepers, sure, fine, that's logical -- but some bloody twit just zipping around doing their own thing chasing a shiny marble is hardly teamwork and completely renders the rest of the team a moot point... ) i bet he hates muggle sports too, and who knows if there are some crippled orphans at Wools in the past because he was once forced into a rugby game or something, but i laugh at the thought of "this is the wizard sport, I must like it!" just dying a shrill death for tom/voldie because he can't get past "this is stupid, i refuse to engage with this."
(also bonus points if his main rival at school was the 40s equivalent of cedric.)
I was literally thinking about this, this morning in a dadmort sense. Like Harry really being into quidditch and Voldemort not giving a fuck but wanting to find a way to connect to Harry besides something violent or their shared past. He shows up at Harry’s quidditch games not understanding what’s going on, but going to support him. He buys the merch and takes him to professional games and listen as Harry open ups and goes on rants about his favorite teams even though he never really gets it.
Harry knows he doesn’t get it, but seeing someone there in the stands for HIM and it’s just for something like quidditch brings him so much joy that he didn’t know he was allowed to experience before.
So now you can picture dadmort in the quidditch stands with his son annoyed that he doesn’t get it. But then he looks down to his son who is SO excited to be there and looks up with him with such joy that dadmort can’t help but think that this was worth it and smile back.
The logic is sound. Vampire!Harry IS partaking of his own blood after all -- and it's living! No other vampire can do that. (Harry: No. Just no. // Later: Voldemort smirks in victory because Harry's sitting on his lap and the fangs are in his neck and [CENSORED NSFW HAPPENINGS])
i do love me both tomarry and harrymort. however, i've come to the realization that, if i ever wrote anything, it'd probably be harrymort. mostly because tomarry requires work. you've gotta lay the groundwork with tomarry, to cultivate the plot elements with the risks of getting bogged down in other kinds of worldbuilding and ocs and sideplots, likely stuck at hogwarts as the setting. with harrymort? the obsession is already there and raring to go. the tomarry author is standing at the front door yelling for tom to come down already and get in the car. the harrymort author decides it's time to go and finds that voldemort has already taken the car keys and the car and is speeding off into a dark and/or smutty distance, likely with harry already tied up in the backseat.
Idk about "Tomarry requires work". I mean yes, but they both need a lot of work but in different ways. In tomarry, Harry is more likely to fall for Tom in reality because he is far more handsome and charming you, but you're right the author needs more of a reason to get Tom interested.
In Harrymort, Harry has to have a reason to fall for Voldemort. Sure 90% of it is forced but I have found some of the best ones are where Harry ends up falling in love and it be actual work. He is in denial the whole time and yes of course Voldemort is a psychopath and obsessed and everything but Harry ends up falling for him in his own way. Harry gets tied down in the backseat, but after he eventually finds a way to escape be is blushing because he realized that while they were speeding down the road Voldemort made sure to buckle his seatbelt.
What is the best thing about your country?
if lily lived, she would've been proven to be the biggest enemy to tom/voldie ever. because jhow do you deal with a mother-in-law like that.
i can’t find the fic you tweeted about posting, did you delete it?

No, its right here. Good luck 😈
Thank you (and Snape) for the delicious smut on this Thanksgiving Day. Hoping everyone will have their fill. ;)
Me, a humble Harrymort liker, sees a new AO3 fic with some interesting tags.
Me, reading those tags but then stopping at cannibalism.
Me, waffling on whether to read this or not because everything else sings to me but that one tag...
Me, seeing it's by the author of Heaven Is Your Sleeping Enemy.
Me, upon registering this, going "Fuck it, YOLO. Let's see what this is about."
Me, at the end of the fic, saying "Fuck, they've done it again. This was good food. Okay, maybe wrong choice of words there."
Seriously, that was a good fic. I think one of the things I like most about your take on Harrymort is that the two of them are so very intermingled: body, mind, soul, fate. You convey the bond between them as...the only thing that comes to mind is "viscerally intimate." It's a perspective I really like because you do a lot to explore this and how it's always present, even if under the surface. It's a refreshing contrast to the actual HP books since the bond is more often than not ignored until it's used for some weak plot contrivance/dump.
I am so happy that you said that because that is so much what I love about voldemort/Harry fics. Like there is SO much to explore about their connection that it goes beyond just a regular soulmate connection. I need them obsessed with each other beyond human comprehension. Its one of those things where I LOVE writing it, just... mindless instinctual world ending obsession they have for each other. Like they would watch reality rip itself apart to be together even if deep down they hated one another. The future literally cannot exist without the other in it in some way shape or form.
Harry would rather be dragged down to hell to be with Voldemort to fight/fuck each other for eternity than to go be with his friends/family in the afterlife. He would never truly be happy.
like that kind of obsession.
and then just for a moment they get a taste of what kind of connection they have for each other and it makes them do wild shit. They come out of it and its just like "....oh"
I could go on and on and on.
What is your favorite part about Tomarrymort fics?
The codependency. The literal fact that they would be destroy and destroy everyone around them if they are separated for too long.
I love when Harry's friends get concerned for him for his "sudden obsession" with Voldemort when really it's always been there, it's just been amplified.
I love when Voldemort's "sudden obsession" with Harry turns into him killing his own followers for laying a hand on him. When he would rather let one of his best men die than miss an opportunity to be near Harry.
I love it when Harry forgets to spend time with his friends or plans they made when Voldemort's near because he becomes his entire world. Literally nothing else matters.
I could go on and I will
What do you like more, dogs or cats?
I saw your thing about Harry being kidnapped and, man, that is such a wasted 3rd year opportunity. Harry's kidnapped after blowing up Marge! Clearly it's Sirius. And then Sirius is, like, "Wait, what? No. I came to kill the rat. I did see him, he got on the bus, but I didn't do anything." And thus more freak out b/c so much time was wasted on the wrong lead.
OOOOO that sounds amazing!
But i was thinking of something more violent. Like when they take Harry from the Dursleys to the Order for the first time the Death eaters really do attack and WIN. Harry is easily able to dodge them (flyer of the century after all) but ends up being distracted because of course he had to try and save remus or something. He succeeds, but it ends up being his downfall as another death eater grabs him and appareates away with him. Harry fights as hard as he can physically but the end up overpowering him. Like im picturing Harry kicking and screaming and at least three death eaters ending up holding him down because Harry was able to knock their wands out of their hands but they are still all bigger than him.
Voldemort walks in and calls them all idiots and Harry is just stuck there horrified and unable to move.
