Do you believe that watching porn is harmful?

On the whole, no, but I have reservations. It’s a skewed version of sex. Over the last few years your average porn fuck has gotten rougher, more mechanical, and very formulaic - can I even say, boring? It follows the same pattern: man goes down on woman; woman blows man; man pounds woman in four to five different positions; woman makes lots of appreciative noises; man comes on woman’s face. All done at ferocious speed. (Like sprinters. The fastest one wins!) And all about male satisfaction. The woman is merely an attractive sex toy.

If watching porn is your only reference to what sex between two people should be like (as it is for young people) then you end up thinking having sex is like an Olympic sport rather than an act of mutual gratification. Men end up thinking that throwing a woman into different positions while hammering her at full ramming speed is what she likes, because the women on the internet seem to love it. And women put up with it, and maybe do things (or get pressured into doing things) they might not enjoy, because the internet tells them they should be screaming their heads off in ecstasy.
