Your parents, did they earn your respect? (You have to be at least 18 years old to answer this question).

I don't believe in 'earning' respect, respect should be the default, given freely and generously and withholding it for...reasons just seems like a dick move TBH , like really you think you're so much better than everybody that you don't have to respect people out of the box? GTFOH
