Flowers used to be gifts with multiple meanings but it looks as if any sense has eroded today. The flower shop advertises a buquet of roses as suitable for a funeral! I expect them to offer poison ivy as suitable for spring lovers and thistles for cheering up moms? Do you know the language of flowers?

Yes, much like a lot of existence, nuance has been chucked out the window when it comes to flowers - people seem to get them for someone they are burying or someone they are boning (or trying to) - I got a friend yellow roses once and everyone thought I was trying to fuck her (including her) that was some awkward times , aren't yellow and white and such for friendly/family love? Hell what do I know
