Eh I don't really like the idea, on one level if my guests are gonna think less because my coffee isn't expensive/fancy enough, I don't want them back anyway...on another level - I'm thinking there could be a reason somebody is avoiding a particular brand, whether it's political, or medical, an ingredient, whatever, so switching out containers feels sketchy to me, no disrespect intended to your mom, of course
