Do you think it's a good idea to normalize moving out at age 18? (as is common in the US at least)

In most cases of, well, anything, a one size fits all approach is less than ideal... Kids thrive at different ages and there's no real reason to dump an 18 year old out into the world except for social/cultural reasons we made up
