Writing request: Fenris watching Miorjah in the gardens and pondering about how he feels about her
Truly, he felt mad. The courts had whispered as much, and the fact that everyone saw it made Fenris uneasy. Always the confident soul able to stay stoic in the face of any challenge, this little princess - this mythical, maiden mare - made him falter in the most dangerous of ways. His mind was on her above the kingdom, above his people, and not even his blood had swayed him from his duty before. To have such an obvious and vulnerable weak point was the downfall of so many leaders before him. There was only one answer, he resolved to himself as he watched her tend to her beloved flowers in the castle gardens. With a gaze that often stared into the unknown, this quiet place was one of the few that made her shake that ghostly blankness and finally brighten with a rejuvenating smile. She would be kept here, close at hand and under constant guard by only his most trusted. Some would call such treatment captivity, the princess a prisoner to his jealous and possessive grip, and perhaps even she would find it so. It did not matter, she would find happiness here in time. It was the only way to protect her, and her life was more valuable than such fleeting things as temporary happiness no matter how deeply her longing sighs and distant stared stung him. He could make this place tolerable, surely. He was a King, and every wish she had could be granted with a snap save her own freedom.
miorjah's whole deal is that she's the goodest of Good Girls™ so how does she handle Fenris killin' people and doing unsavory lawful evil warlord shit? does she accept it? pretend it doesn't happen? hate that he's so mean? (...maybe aroused over how he's so scary and powerful? 😳😳)
This is probably a better question for Miorjah to answer! My understanding is that while she dislikes his more brutal side he protects her and loves her and she tries not to think about some of the things he does day to day as King. She does find comfort in his protectiveness and the simple stability of his kingdom under his rule however, even if it comes through unsavory means. It means she is more comfortable and safe. It’s exhausting to moralize everything when you’ve survived a genocide of your people and taken to a foreign land where you don’t really understand the customs and context all too well I imagine as well.
any fun facts and info about fen's gay BFF? 👀 iirc she was his childhood friend and one of y'all mentioned they had a threeway (pre-miorjah) that they don't like to talk about?
Fenris doesn’t really talk much about sex stuff from when he was younger because years before he meets Miorjah his sex drive basically gets shut off. He simple doesn’t have any interest. When he was young his sex drive was high and he slept around a lot, and them being young people in a sexually liberal society they competed for women and occassionally had threesomes but never had any interest in one another. Miorjah is a very jealous individual and thought of him having exes makes her upset so him being friends with someone he had a threesome with just isn’t something he brings up lol
What would fenris do if Miorjah got hurted by a much larger wolf then him?
Fenris is pretty large even by Iotunnulf standards, so a much larger wolf is out of the question but in general if he was wounded she would tend to his wounds magically and they’d share a moment of him marvelling in her powers.
"(Hrefna) poisons Miorjah at some point" ohh?? what's her whole deal? like in a nutshell. i know she's his bitch ex but idr if you guys went into details about their history. what's up with his not-biologically-his-but-legally-his-bastard kids with her?
Fenris and Hrefna were mutually toxic lovers that everyone thought would end up together when he was young. After expecting the power and luxury of being the chief’s wife Hrefna was pissed off when she basically got thrown away after he grew cold to her. The bastard children are not even legally his as well, but to deny them outright would make it seem like he was trying to suppress their potential future claims to the throne and basically make them figueheads to justify rebellion. Ultimately they are a way for Hrefna to have a little power over Fenris still even though they broke up so long ago, it means he can’t outright dismiss her without causing trouble for the kingdom.
I been so interested to ask this for soooooooooooooo long that I could dieee but I been wondering I love drama am sorry ;-; but I been wondering what would fenris do or feel towards if his mom was alive and didn't want him to marry Miorjah but Instead to marry hrefna? ( No I don't like hrefna with fenris. This is just a question I been wanting to ask for so long am very interested and I could write a story over you and Miorjah, I ship both you and your wife together! ✨ )
His mother is alive actually, it’s his father that passed away when he was young. Morrigan is living her best life being a wise matron giving snarky and sometimes warm advice to her children every now and then and chilling in her old age. If Morrigan didn’t support Fenris being with Miorjah it wouldn’t change much, I think it would strain their relationship (him and his mom’s not miorjah and him) for sure but he wouldn’t do anything differently.
do Fenris and Miorjah ever attempt or use any kind of birth control or is she just gettin creampied every day all day and leaving fate in God's hands
As King Fenris needs heirs and a spare, as they say. He also genuinely wants a big happy family, he’s always wanted to be a father but didn’t realize it was possible for many years before he met Miorjah because he thought he was infertile. Instead, it was just their soul bond basically making it impossible to be attracted to other women and basically unable to finish with them.
What are fenris’ views on prey and predator women?
Fenris views prey and predator women differently. Being around very strong willed and independent predator women growing up - his mother and his ex Hrefna especially - he found himself not particularly interested in fellow Iotunnulf romantically, much preferring a softer and more submissive partner as he grew older. He has a tendency to take charge and really strive to be a provider, and that sort of attitude can butt heads with prideful predator women who feel like him telling them to relax and not do any work means he doesn’t think they are capable of it.
What kind of self grooming and care does fenris do?
One of my favorite historical quotes is a note on how English men warned each other of Vikings stealing their women because they were being wooed by their long, luxurious hair and their tendency to bathe at least once a week. This being said the setting takes place many years after that historical period but for what one might initially expect it’s surprising to know that he is a very well groomed individual. He takes daily baths if able, thoroughly washes his hair at least once every three days, and regularly has his braids redone in the morning either himself or with a servants help. When miorjah comes into the picture I imagine they braid each others hair sometimes as a calm morning ritual, him commanding her servants out of the room and just sitting quietly with her intimately touching each others’ hair and grooming one another. During the spring seasons Iotunnulf also have a spring shed like dogs and wolves in real life, so combs are used to help take care of the excess fur.
How was fenris trained? What was he trained in?
Fenris was trained mainly by his father and mother. In matters of rulership he was mostly advised by his father and hagar glenulf, his father’s right hand man as well as the father to den’s childhood friend and future mior bodyguard frida. Things he learned from them were hunting, preparing a kill to cook, wilderness survival, war strategy, logistics of feeding a city, ceremonies expected of him as a future Jarl, and other things he would need day to day as a leader. In the actual art of combat fenris was trained by his mother, who was an extremely skilled swordswoman that could even beat his father one on one. Lastly, he had a main tutor named Garth who later serves as the librarian of castle black and an advisor on his council. From Garth he learned to read and write in multiple languages, history both of his own land and foreign ones, and a basic overview of foreign cultures he may one day need to interact with.
How did Fenris react the very first time Miorjah became pregnant?
Incredibly happy. For many years before that he is convinced that he is actually sterile due to the soul bond they share making it impossible to impregnate other women. Fenris realizes in that moment that 1. He will have a legitimate heir that he can prepare for the role to carry on his legacy rather than potentially dooming his nation to civil war once he passes and 2. He’s incredibly in love with miorjah and he has always wanted to be a father, and while he’s not perfect especially with his culture and him being a busy man due to his status i think it’s fair to say he is a great dad all things considered. He loves all his children, he spends quality time with them one on one when given the chance to build personal warm relationships with them, he provides for them all anything they could ever need, and he’s a wise man that gives them advise often.
Does Hrefna ever bother Miorjah?
Oh boy does she. She actually poisons her at one point, but mainly she gets on her nerves by reminding miorjah she exists and used to be with fenris. Miorjah hates the idea of fenris ever being with anyone else, and when she learns that Fenris might have bastard sons that starts a big fight. They’re not actually his sons, but he can’t prove it otherwise until later in the story when they have children.
Share a sample line of dirty-talk.
“My broodmare, you are the perfect little thing. I am going to fuck you, to make your belly swell with my seed and fill you with child. You are mine now, and when my scent has mixed with yours no one will ever question who owns you. You will be kept at my side for the rest of your days. You will be protected, you will want for nothing, and it will be because you are mine. My precious girl, you make me hungry. Hold on to me if you must while I satisfy my need. Accept my touch and learn to crave it in the dark hours of the night. Do not be ashamed, girl, this is what women should desire from their husbands. This is your duty. Your calling. Now lay back, and let me make you feel something new.”
Are there any names they like to be called in bed/names they call their partner? Any names they wouldn’t use/can’t stand?
They prefer to be called Sir or Fenris in bed, and they often call Miorjah princess, my broodmare, my peach, my moonlight, and more. Fenris doesn’t like any goofy names to be used during sex.
Who forges and repairs most of Fenris' gear? Does he have a favorite smith? And lastly- does he have sentimentality towards his weapons and armor, or does he have a more utilitarian mindset about his gear?
Great question! It might be surprising to know that his favorite smith is not even a Iotunnulf, much to the Fyrulf Clan’s chagrin. A settlement of dragon men called the North Roost repairs his more precious and sentimental pieces, specifically the head smith there. The dragons of the north roost are required for the creation and maintenance of shatter steel, as only a dragon’s breath can melt the material. For more day to day routine needs he does have a Fyrulf in the castle, but he’s less the King’s smith and more a smith for the castle and all those that live there.
Rewinding a little Fenris does have a lot of sentimentality in weapons like his sword and axe, but those are because he inherited the sword from his father and the axe because he received it as a gift from his right hand man Baldur. Shields and spears he is far more utilitarian about because they often get broken in combat.
