How comes that people who are prone to believe in conspiracy theories often have right-wing political views?

It used to be the other way around. Now far-right "populism" is the new counter-culture. Instead of George Carlin we have Milo and Joe Rogan. Instead of Charles Koch it's "George Soros secretly funded this". I remember when I first discovered 4chan back in 2007 it was mostly a left wing atheist pro-Occupy movement site. Now it's full of Warhammer memes and (somehow) became fundamentalist Christian. The inbreds at Stormfront hijacked the shit out of it. But to answer your question I think it's because right-wing 'people' think reality doesn't reaffirm their views because the media is biased, not Fox News though, so naturally everything else is one large well-orchestrated conspiracy to discredit them.
