How would you tell the difference between obedience and following orders to avoid being hurt?

As for me, obedience is like following the rules or respecting authority, while following orders to avoid getting hurt is more about looking out for yourself. CMIIW. Cium me if I’m wrong. 😁

True obedience comes from doing things willingly and joyfully, without feeling burdened. But if fear is the driving force behind your actions, and they don't resonate with your desires, it's definitely following orders to avoid being hurt.

I'm not sure, but for me, obedience initially means following orders precisely to avoid harm and hurt. After all, aren't orders created to prevent chaos and conflict, which surely everyone has already agreed upon? So, questioning the difference between those two things is kinda tough, 'cause they're kinda intertwined conceptually hehe

HMM i think the difference is; following orders is 'continuing' things that have steps? (If you get what i mean). But overall i don't think i could tell the diff instantly :,)
