hello i am having autistic adoptive twins thoughts and felt you should also have this concept
elliot's wardrobe being bc he can't tolerate most tshirts and jeans
elliot having to "be taught how to be a human being" screams autistic behavior, especially the idea of not showing emotions ~correctly
elliot just keeping his head down and reading books about everything he can get his hands on bc if, like, reading as an activity could be a special interest, that would be one of his
sasha being the school weirdo not just for the heart attack but because she was that quiet kid who didn't always get sarcasm (bonus autistic yvonne whose Special Interests are nails and computers)
sasha who shares yvonne's interest in nails and elliot's interest in reading
sasha who wears her hair in the impractically long and loose style she has for most of the series because there's only a handful of hair ties she can stand sensory wise and wearing most of the same clothes as elliot for similar reasons (material + style + etc)
both of them just kind of having the spider sense moment from into the spider-verse between miles and peter parker except autistic and connecting on that level too
Hi!!! I’m SO onboard with this.
Elliot and his outfits make so much sense, I feel like he really loves his bright, silk shirts and fiddling with them (the same with his Necklace) and always has to wear breezy shorts or sweatpants (never jeans—same).
Honestly, with the amount of books he has in his room I can see him just being obsessed with the school library and him just a hiding in a corner reading — earphones in —when he’s meant to be in class and he probably ignores everyone but Sasha when they come to find him and retrieve him (although Sasha probably sits next to him and starts reading too).
Also, the idea that cannot be separated and it drives everyone mad becomes even funnier when they start wearing and swapping the same outfits to school or even share TJ’s oversized shirts.
(Bonus Yvonne is an icon and I love her and her nails hyperfixation).
I actually have that hairband issue because my hair is thick 😭, soft scrunchies save my life to be honest!!! So, throwing a bunch at Sasha rn
(Dying at that Spider-Man pointing moment where it all clicks and they both go huh and move on 😂😭).
