hehe I just love going into depth about hu tao's character. I've even got so many thoughts about her relationship with her father. But that aside, I don't even follow you so it might seem weird but I kinda lack an outlet to talk about hu tao because my moots don't know much about her and that's okay. I just need to say it somewhere and have someone who reads it :D so thanks
FEEL FREE TO RANT AS YOUR HEART DESIRES!!! both here & in my dms in case you have a public twt and want to follow e/o hehe
i was really surprised by how they wrote her relationship with her dad— good surprised! she’s unapologetically harsh towards him, and i get it— she’s angry because the love he felt for his life was bigger than his sense of duty, which is something so human but that wangsheng can’t afford. it didn’t cost him just his life, or the village, but her grandfather’s life as well. and she is still hurting, despite everything… and not to quote wandavision when i didn’t even watch it, but isn’t grief just love preserving? i like to think that if she “hated” her dad and that’s it, she wouldn’t have kept that picture, and wouldn’t have seen him at the gate…
