The G20 is being hosted not far from where I live and as a result there's a lot of foreign leaders in the city. Is that my chance to do some global-level networking?

Sure, if you're gonna schmooze I recommend their assistants and whatnot- they are the sweet spot of access to the big shots and ease of approaching them, they know who's who and likely other assistants for other big shots, and they just might appreciate a bit of attention and empathy, especially if they work for a hardass
