yeah other people have mentioned the "fashion" thing in that very thread. tho i do wonder if that's from the birthday stream a couple of years ago? didn't he just say it "looked good and is the most expensive thing he's bought?" not that it was for fashion reasons? personally, i feel like it being the most expensive/most liked accessory he owns is indicative of the care in which he picked it out and the value it holds apart from the price, and i also think he maybe just got more private as he's gotten older regarding faith, the same way he closely guards his family and childhood. but I acknowledge that it's also very possible or even probably that it's just that i get very catholic vibes from him (in a different way/flavor than i get catholic vibes from, say, felix who's more conspicuous with his faith) and am working off of that even tho there's nothing more concrete to back it up.

i'm so sorry for how long this is going to be. i actually didn't play any video games as a kid and only got into them as an adult during lockdown, so in terms of scope or anything i'm pretty green and limited to the selection at my library . if you have any recs i'd love to hear them!

rn i've been replaying bloodborne and every time i play i always just marvel at how gorgeous and... rich? the art design is on that game. the combat is always fun but i love to like... clear enemies in a small select area and then just take a walk and look at stuff. i haven't really played other fromsoftware games yet apart from a couple of attempts at getting into demon souls, but when I have the opportunity i'd like to try elden ring and sekiro. i know aire/@mountainsaire said they had a minsung bloodborne au that they were working on and i think about the idea of that whenever i want to go a little insane.

my comfort games are link to the past and secret of mana. basically any 16-bit era game with music that fucking slaps, but those two reign supreme for me.

other faves include:
-fallout new vegas (i'm also of the unpopular opinion that fallout 4 is fun! like yeah the main storyline is disappointing, but i always enjoy myself with side quests/encounters/companions)
-the outer worlds (fun fact: i played this before any fallout games at all and became an obsidian hoe before I even knew bethesda existed)
-bioshock (i'm one of the few that LOVES the combat in bioshock 2 and infinite, but the story in infinite is such a mess imo and executed so clumsily that i find it hard to replay, even though i also like the art design).

i don't really have any au plans for any of them. tho an outer worlds au would go SO hard imo. something about the groundbreaker being a casablanca-eque neutral space is so interesting to me. like. idk. outlaw minho and back bays orphan jisung meeting on a space station. i think that has potential.

yesss exactly! i was very much thinking about like... hades and persephone, but with minho being only one of MANY grim reapers. idk i love the idea of minho just... being one of many. and yet also being the one to not only make but OFFER the exchange. it's not so much that it's unprecedented or forbidden but it's... idk discouraged? rare? bizarre? for a lowly servant of death to be making his own deals instead of only serving fate.

i also love the idea of jisung just... immediately being like. oh, this must be death himself, this must be a god, this ethereal beauty in a metaphysical being that entraps souls. when actually minho's like. the equivalent of a supernatural office worker. later, after they're joined and jisung hands his soul over (minho's never had a live soul in his ledger before, when jisung asks him what it feels like, he pauses for a second before blithely answering "heartburn" (it's not like heartburn it's like feeling butterflies in his stomach but jisung doesn't need to know that)) jisung's surprised he can still visit the earthly realm, even if not for long periods of time. he spends most of it in the library looking up records of past kings bc SURELY this man was royalty or nobility when he was alive... surely he was someone important. someone who's face was printed on currency or canvas.

idk if they'll become ACTUAL full fics bc im pretty possessed by my wips rn. but like. obviously if you ask i WILL just... ramble about them at length.

lol i don't even remember where i heard that salmon is hard to cook but i when i thought of minho purposefully giving jisung the WORST cooking instructions for when he makes dinner for his dates, i knew it had to be salmon. such a finicky dish. idk how yall do it.

i think he cooks it perfectly for jisung tho.

actually i take back my original concept. i think that maybe jisung just wanted minho to teach him how to cook bc jisung's plan was to eventually cook for HIM. so maybe he was just like "i want to cook for my crush when i ask them out 🥺" and kill bill sirens go off in minho's head. he's gotta teach him how to make the worst dish ever. he's gotta make it so that the fish on the plate trumps all of jisung's natural charms and make him seem utterly undatable. a lot to ask from a fish, but necessary.

cue him coming into their apartment (i guess this is in an au where they're roommates) and jisung is like "surprise i made dinner!" nervous and blushing, with two plates and one candle lit between them.

anyway the very poorly cooked fish does not do its job, minho is still very much infatuated. and he is also now calling for takeout.
