Hello, I just discovered this event yesterday on AO3 and was wondering if it's still open to participate? I've never done a bingo event before, so if it is open then how can I sign up?

Hey, I'm thinking of maybe replacing three squares in my card. I just wanted to ask if we don't like the new card can we just use the old card? I also wanted to ask where we should request the replacement? Is it ok to email? Thank you <3
Hello!
Please reply to the email where you recieved your card to request for the replacements! If you're worried about not liking the replacements, you can further explain your preferences in the request and I'll try my best for fitting replacements (even though the trope selection is still random).
Even so, if you don't like the new card, you can still use the old one, it's up to you!

what exactly does religious symbolism and imagery have to contain?? can it be vague?
this answer is a bit lengthy, sorry in advance 😅
"religious symbolism and imagery" can contain any portrayal of religious themes or symbols that would pertain to religion in general. those themes can be inspired or based on existing religions or made up ones. in general, it's all up to the creator, and you can be as vague or as specific as you'd like. for inspiration's sake, a few examples for the inclusion of "religious symbolism and imagery" are:
• in the characters (gods/deities, angels/demons, other non-human beings, prophets, priests, religious leaders and figures, etc);
• in objects (books, attires, jewelry, rosaries, "shrines", sanctuaries, religious art/sculptures/figures, candles, etc);
• in events or rituals (weddings, sacrifices, baptism/initiation rituals, prayers, masses, religious gatherings, etc);
• in the setting or environment (temples, churches, heaven, hell, purgatory, spiritual realms, etc);
• or even with the trope itself (myth/fable/story retellings, metaphors, reincarnation, afterlife, corruption, conversion, etc).

i have to ask...what is the shenmo trope??
To be quite honest, I had to look it up as well! Here's a short definition below:
"Shenmo is a genre in fiction which is also known as ‘Gods and Demons’ fantasy and is founded on Chinese mythology. Shenmo Fantasy is a sub-genre featuring the deities, immortals, and monsters of Chinese mythology."

hello i have a two questions!
1. when i use my free space can i use it for a trope that isn’t in the trope list?
2. if i get 5 fills and request a new card then would i be able to use both card or would the first card expire?

1. no, the free square must be one of the tropes in our trope list, sorry! there are many, so you'll probably find one that fits your work somehow i think? 👀
2. the first card wouldn’t expire, you'd still be able to use both cards if you want to!! they're still your cards after all 😊

hi!! i'm new at this bingo thing so i'm not really sure how to go about filling it... will there be different ways of counting the score if i fill every square in my card? or will it just count as 25 points?
each individual filled square counts as 1 point. if you fill the squares to score a bingo, a special pattern or a full card, those are additional points. so if you fill every square, you will have 25 individual square points, an extra 5 points for each bingo you score, an extra 15 for special patterns AND an extra 25 for the full card. basically, the scores are cumulative!

What if I take a card and then get busy and can’t complete it? Is that ok? I’ve never done one of these before and I’m a little nervous
that's more than okay! this is a low pressure event, which means that creators have no obligation to post works using their cards — and you can still post works after the end of the round (but they won't count for points). there's also no obligation to score or fill the whole card, it's all in good fun!
you also don't need to notify if you drop out of the event. just go at your own pace and create as much as you want/can! no need to be nervous, but you can send a DM if you'd like any help or advice 💕

are we allowed to request more than one card?
not for now! creators can only request for a second card after they've filled at least 5 squares or scored a bingo/special pattern on their first card, and so on.
that is because i am only one mod and wouldn’t be able to handle that load if creators asked for many cards at once, i hope you understand!

if we're not comfortable taking skz out of korean culture for a prompt (frat au, hogwarts au, greek or nordic mythology, etc) do we have to try to find a way to exclude those prompts with our four exclusions and hope to get lucky on the rest, or should we just avoid the au category altogether?
in my opinion, instead of avoiding the whole category, it's best to exclude as many tropes you're not comfortable with as you can, within those four exclusions for each category. then, in case any trope you don't like does end up in your card (which i don't think is that high of a chance, considering there are 29 Alternate Universe tropes), you also have a right to up to three square replacements and even a full card replacement.
