I didn't see any mistranslation nor saw anyone give a translation. The comfort part was Joseph putting the blame on himself, implying Keira was doing the same due to lack evidence during the investigation. Joseph seem to direct it to himself instead. It wasn't really comforting per-say (I said it bc I saw someone else say it so I went along with it), he seem to genuinely blame himself but also because it's possible he didn't want Keira feel like she failed. So he apologized instead.

There's a panel zoom on his eye looking at her as Keira talk about the investigation and no evidence, the next panel was her gloom expression. So he probably took notice of it and the next dialouge was Keira saying how there no traces of poison then right after that Jospeh apologizes, so that's how you kinda connect the feeling and atmosphere of the scene. Putting the blame on himself instead of Keira.

Well I'm overreacting that they hate him lol but they don't pay him to much attention as a character (his own character).
I can't speak alot on the novel because I remember like 10% but Joseph doesn't show up much of the duration of the novel, I think Wilford show up more😅 also I don't think Joseph even showed up at the end of the main story only side story. But honestly felt like he was made in the novel and forgotten😕

For the manhwa, after S1, Joseph has only shown up to cause confliction in the romance aspect. Never something of his own accord. If he shows up its to cause a love triangle reaction only and it's always (95% of the time) before or after erez is around. Basically only to use Joseph as a catalyst for the romance in the story.

Also to give the "I loved you in different lifetimes" only to make him 2nd ML is sickening😤 honestly if they didn't give that I would've been fine if he was 2nd ML🤣

But, yea, the reason I say they hate him is because they only use him romance wise and not plot wise. They only see potential and after put him back in the hiatus section until he's needs to cause another romance on confliction.

OHH I almost forgot mention this, they keep making him have (light) negative emotions (ex. Jealousy or inferior), I mean he's human, he's gonna have a more human reaction whether its ugly or not, but antis will always say some bullshit around it and twist his character.

And one thing I'm really not looking forward at the possibility, is that they will make him have a huge horrible reaction to finding out erez is a demon. This will cause a huge ass fight in fandom if it does happen. And once again him having a human reaction will make people twist shit.

So I basically don't like how they write in that he's the only one (ML wise) having those negative emotions. Not sure how the authors is trying show it but it FEELS like they are making one look better than the other when both are equal fine.

I asked my moot💜, who has better memory than me, about novel and she said Joseph basically a side character😭 but she's glad he has more screentime in the manhwa, tho for me I think I would've prefer he stayed as a side character rather than 2nd ML😤 if your gonna give him more screentime make it platonic not romantic and ruin the mood of him not being the one. S1 really drawed us in with him then drop him🥲

Now about my favorite ship, I don't think I necessarily have one but at the moment my eyes are all on Cainjoo, my headcanon is that both are rooted and bonded soulmates, no matter what life's they're in, they are always meant to be. That their current life is an major obstacle to fight and prevail together so in their next life's they can have a more easily flow in meeting and living happily with no major obstacles.

They met in an unfortunate accident in their first life but lived happily and well until it ended in tragedy.
Their current life they met in a fortunate way but later became struggling after they're meeting. How it ends idk as it's ongoing but if ends happily, then to me that means they overcame together and in whatever upcoming life's they have, they will be at least more easily going.
