I quit grad school. I had never really quit anything in my life up to that point but I'm glad I did. That place sucked the soul out of every living thing. I remember one time when I put a tiny plant on the communal kitchen windowsill and next time I checked it someone left me a passive aggressive post-it about how unsafe that was for it to be there... a plant. On a windowsill. No happiness was allowed there
