Are fathers worse parents than mothers in general?

Worse in the sense of like, emotional nurturing and involvement in the childrens' lives? I think it's possible since societal expectations for men vs. women in the family are so different. I think if you're the breadwinner of the family (which men often are in many western families) your job is important to the family's wellbeing, but it's certainly not everything you could be doing for your family.

This reminds me of a rly good comic I read about the "mental load" that a lot of modern mothers struggle with. It's about the asymmetric division of mental and emotional labor of domestic duties between mothers and fathers. Even if you're not someone who wants kids, it's a fantastic read bc it's also very relevant to living with a partner. I can even see it applying to my situation rn and I just live with my roommate. it's a bit of a long read but worth it imo

OBVIOUSLY single parents exist. I'm not talking about those. I'm talking about the traditional 2-parent family unit. that's an entirely different story. thank u
