When my brother and I were in high school the fact that he was associated with me made certain people roast him and say all the same things about him that they said about me. Some of the things they said about me were true, like that I'm a loser with a gay voice. But they bothered my brother. So when I graduated, he told those same people that he just didn't talk to me anymore, and they warmed up to him. So I was unpopular with enough people for my brother, who generally likes me, to pretend not to like or even really know me.
