Are or were your grandparents a burden to you?

Nah. My grandfathers died when I was a child. My surviving grandmother isn't a burden to me or her other grandchildren, or even her own children--she's very healthy and does for herself. She's also pretty forward-thinking and intelligent so you don't worry much about her putting herself in danger out of stubbornness or just an inability to understand the world changing around her. My other grandmother got very ill, but I never provided any care for her because she simply didn't want to see or speak to me. But if she had wanted me to help her I don't think I would have seen her as a burden. My dad needs a lot of help already, and he's only 57, and I don't see him as a burden so I don't think I'd have felt that way about my grandparents. But who knows.
