this may be a reach but i kind of feel like a reason chn has self-esteem/identity issues is because majority of the fandom only see chn as a leader/dad (ick) rather than a valuable contributor. there is a very thin but clear line between appreciating his artistry and leadership versus seeing him as the decision maker of every little thing (and then blaming him when things don’t turn out as planned). i also think it fucks with his head how a lot of the solo stans either hate chn because they think he has favoritism against their fave member OR they only tolerate him because he can help boost their fave’s image/career. too many people misinterpret chn and his words. he’s constantly the butt of mean jokes and stupid comments. and imagine how that might feel? no wonder he’s sad or can be self-deprecating. he sees how people talk about him (or don’t talk about him at all)….that would get to anyone. this gorgeous talented individual thinks he’s unattractive and thinks he’s lacking in skill because that’s what he’s largely been reduced to. it’s really upsetting.
oh anon, i hate how spot on u are with this 😞 just to add another thing, every time i’ve seen any sort of hate directed at chn, it’s like a 50% chance that they’ll call him ugly or just insult his appearance and it makes me feel fucking horrible bc he definitely sees that shit, and i can’t imagine how much worse that makes his self esteem, on top of whatever other bs they’ll say abt him :(((

wait actually it really is crazy that l1sa posted flx on her story but then i remembered how b4mb4m is also friendly with flx because of chn. example is the ‘$kz room limited version’ vlive (i’ll link it); when bb called in he literally only spoke to chn and flx, asking flx a bunch of questions about what chn means to him!! chnlx were also adorable in that live so its a win-win.
