Do your pokemon trainer ocs try to stick to a primary team of 6 pokemon or catch a bunch of them to rotate or just befriend?
Jin doesn't really go out of her way to catch mon so her team isn't especially large to begin with, but that being said, she does bring all of her mon with her basically everywhere she goes.
Alternatively, Mary has a fair number of catches but they are all more of the result of her tendency to visit haunted locations for fun so her collection of ghost friends tends to grow. But much like Jin, she brings almost all of them with her. The ones she doesn't hang back at home with the family while she's traveling.
Elio has 30+ that he consistently rotates between for a variety of situations - similar to Ash in the [Aim to Be a Pokemon Master] mini-series; although, the only constants (i.e. permanent party members) are:
⚫[Molesurya the Volcarona] - His Ace and long-time brother-in-arms.
⚫[Nyrgal the Ditto] - Elio's sentient multi-purposed swiss-army knife. Usually disguises itself as one of Elio's many accessories instead of staying in its ball, preferring fresh air to "being held captive".
⚫[Estio the Marshadow] - The team's jolly childlike mascot that stays within Elio's shadow.
⚫[Wulfreing the Unovan!Aegislash] - Elio's personal weapon and rarely battles unless necessary; like with Nyrgal and Estio, he doesn't stay in his ball and is alternatively disguised as an ornate bracelet that Elio keeps on his person at all times.
⚫[Ultinomy the Miraidon] - The most recent member and Elio's new ride after [REDACTED].
Additionally, he's befriended a good handful of other Pokemon: both wild and belonging to other trainers - a small portion being legendaries and mythicals he's encountered on his journey.
