I consider serious accusations in the form of social media posts as... serious things. That said, it's not something I would do as I feel people's actions speak for themselves (unless their actions are "silent").

As for defending myself in case someone made up something about me, I wouldn't. It's not a battle or something. Lies aren't weapons, they are nerf guns at best. And acting as if I was hit by "real bullets" is exactly that: acting, as in drama. Literally.

However, if I'm publicly relevant (famous) and that lie is being spread by robust organizations, I would get a lawyer.

I'm familiar with propaganda and mind targeting. I'm too focused for this games.
