Do people really change or do they just recognize and react logically to new circumstances?

There is a lot of both...to the outsider there isn't really a functional difference though, so you never really know which is the case unless the old circumstances return somehow

Those doing the latter are a rare group! But people change. Not that they change due to learning by experience and well learned lessons. The change due to life crashing experiences or soul damaging events.

I think people do change, though circumstances may be the reason they change. As for logic, I think logic plays a minimal part in human life and personality.
