A two-for-one sale for you: I pretty much told the story in the question, but someone went through a lot of effort and made me a pasta dish that had some pancetta and pepperoni in it, and those sometimes come with those 'do not eat' silica packets inside...that someone cooked one of those silica packets into the dish, I ended up saying nothing about it and just appreciating someone cooking for me and trying not to fall in love with them 😛 oh and the second story was my girlfriend's sister, who is not blessed with talent in the kitchen, let's say...she decided to make us banana bread, the poor girl was toiling away at it for longer than what it should have been for banana bread...we gathered around to cut it, I stick the knife in and CLANG, there was a fork baked into the banana bread
