What makes you feel like you’re an actual fan of something? Do you like learning all of the information you can manage— or maybe you like actively participating in the fandom or community?
knowing the lore 、 buying merch are the basics ! ︎ ♡︎
Both of those combined. Mostly the information thing.
Having a bunch of info/facts in my brain about a certain thing sort of just makes me feel more connected to it which in turn makes me feel like a real fan of said thing! I also just enjoy finding out things in general, but it's more fun when it's about something I actively like to partake in!
About participating in community things, I enjoy that too! Selectively. It doesn't make me feel more like a fan, it's just something I may do after already considering myself a fan just for extra fun. I think things like Snow Miku are good examples of that! Although at other times I don't like to do said activities. It really depends
I struggle a lot with socializing so I’m not super active in a lot of hololive spaces— but I love sharing about it! I’ll talk to anyone and everyone about hololive ( besides those I don’t like ) & I really like discovering new facts about it! I think the biggest factor to why I call myself the biggest hololive fan is my dedication to it— I’ve never had an interest come even close to how much I love hololive, and how much it means to me … I can’t imagine that anyone can even understand how much I love it!
Either of the two. I just have to actively seek to learn a lot of information about it. There can still be gaps, but I should know the fundamental stuff and be interested in it.
Additionally, a good metric for my passion about something is whether I start talking to myself about it, and how much I have to say.
i do know alot of information about skyrim!!! ... engaging in the community? mmm not a fan, majority are 28+ year old men who are single and sexualize every. fictional. character. slight glance at the community on nexus
id say participating ++ just talking abt it makes me feel like im in the fandom tbh ,,
