as for "how i write them so well", if that isn't meant to be rhetorical, when it comes to gunvolt i largely treat the cast like my oc's. a lot of it draws from personal experience. to make an example out of merak, he's a character who is depressed, chronically ill, and neurodivergent, written by someone who is all of those things. i also have been into gunvolt for literal years at this point and have had plenty of time to weave a narrative in my head about certain characters. teseo is a character i have multiple complex headcanons about, but every gunvolt character i write about has been built piece by piece over the years. gibril for instance i always thought would be neat if she had a musical motif, "metal" for her septima, so in iui i had her pick up guitar. it's little things like that, and they stack up
when writing characters that aren't yours i feel a helpful thing to keep in mind is to rationalize the "why" behind their behavior. especially if it's in regards to something negative. with merak, i don't try to ignore the fact that he has low empathy and sometimes has a callous disregard for others' feelings; i instead rationalize it as it being a symptom of autism. it makes them seem a bit more human that way

so i havent really took the time to really comment on iui beyond my quick sketch but i really enjoyed how you wrote milas and how you decided to lean into his 'older brother' part of his (theoretical since its not like we see much of him) character and him being chill with teseo with the fish doctor / flying fish flu stuff! also i wanted to ask what was your hc regarding him being familiar w chronic pain bc seeing it being brought up from him made me happy as someone who has issues similar to merak, even if it might be unrelated to him personally and is more of smth he picked up from working with the seven in general. anyway i hope you feel better soon ami, im more familiar with your gv stuff than your other works but the stuff you write when it comes to the g7 means everything to me honestly. thank you for everything you do
having merak learn more about chronic pain through way of milas is kris' idea and something he threw out when i was spitballing wanting to write merak being chronically ill but not having the self-awareness to realize it on his own. i imagine milas was pitched because of the comedic potential https://twitter.com/rrofb/status/1357334902933344265
