Hi, Claire! I've been waiting to answer this question but pardon me for being such a turtle, I needed 12 days to think about what movie should I drop here. The thing about me is that I watch a movie that stole my attention, whether because ones who's staring the show, the director and their signature to do a movie, or even because the brief story or plot that I overhead somewhere—it turns to be interesting for me to see. So basically, every movie that I watch based on my own will is just the movie that I like. I have a few titles that I write on the top of the list of course, one of them that I really love so much is The Breakfast Club. Don't you ever consider it to be compared with Oscar winner movie such as Bohemian Rhapsody or a complicated and yet the best masterpiece ever such as The Truman Show or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (I love Jim Carrey, yes). The movie, The Breakfast Club, is simply just a coming of age movie. Talking about these so-called (they're not) rebellious kiddos whose happen to step on a stair named adulthood. They're not ready, and we all know that. I could actually write down a paragraph about it but no, you should go and watch it yourself. Oh and by the way, those 3 others are also worth watching in case you're curious lol!
Gangubai Kathiawadi! Is a film about a young woman who was sold into a brothel and forced to work as a prostitute. She later became "mafia queen" who liberated thousands of women sex worker and fight for their labor rights. It's a beautiful, empowering, and wellwritten movie about feminism, gender equality, misogyny, sexism, and discrimination towards certain community. I cried a lot throughout the 2,5 hours duration. And the movie is loosely based on the biography of Gangubai Kotheweli. So it was semi-based on a true story :)
let's start with the most basic one, FORREST GUMP (1994)
this movie will make u think that the main character is a total idiot who got so lucky in life at the first time u watch it, but when it alr come to the end of the movie, you'll realize that forrest is not lucky but he always give his 100% while doing something ppl told him to do.
one of my fav movies is percy jacson. aku suka mitologi, salah satunya mitologi yunani yg ternyata banyak bgt cerita-cerita di dalamnya. hbu claire?
