seeing comments like "I went from disliking her to liking her" and now it has atleast 2 million views under that "unbiased" thread made me angry as an utahime and gouta fan. The negativity is insane apparently there is the lack of that energy for pro ships. This just saddens me since alot people from our community make alot of utahime and gojohime dynamic threads with great anaylsis and honestly hardwork and these people do not even know and they do not have romantic stuff and these antis just bash us for liking their appeal and then this "unbiased" thread is spreading around about utahime and trying to dox gouta's dynamic. I know some people do be little farfetched in either sides but it really saddens me to see them say we mischaracterize utahime and her dynamic with gojo and acting like they know her better. This was like my tipping point. I just want to say I am happy with alot of you people's retaliations against those. I am happy to be in community with people like you. More arts and fics should come out to spite them.
trust me when i say i share your sentiment, anon. it’s almost funny how op wasted their time digging through countless gjhm hcs and theories just to create a thread solely to spite us. it’s so obvious their main agenda is to debunk gjhm. and now the reply section is flooded with #those weird ass people acting like they love and know her better when they were the ones that mocked and ridiculed us for wanting utahime to get more recognition, more merch and more inclusion in collabs and illustrations. it’s as if they weren’t the ones at the frontline harassing her fans and gjhm shippers not long ago. but seriously, are we even surprised? these people just can’t stand seeing her anywhere near their favorite FICTIONAL men. by the way they’re acting, you'd think we barged into their house and spat on their dog. it’s just honestly baffling how they react as if our enjoyment of a fictional pairing is a personal attack to them. like, are you telling me that my happiness with gjhm somehow diminishes your own preferences or beliefs? bffr 😭
and you’re absolutely right. it really irks me that threads fueled by shipping agendas gain traction while the quality ones that genuinely explore utahime’s character and potential get overlooked. it’s like the thoughtful stuff just doesn't get the love it deserves. it's frustrating because there's so much more to her than just who she's shipped with.
i just wish more people would take the time to discover and engage with threads created by fans who genuinely care about utahime, rather than those who only show interest in her once they believe they've discredited the pairing she's associated with. these genuine fans put in so much effort to explore her complexities and potential, celebrate her character, and envision her future role in the story. she deserves appreciation and exploration on her own merits, not as a pawn in shipping wars.
and yes, i'm totally onboard with that! with gouta week just around the corner, we’re sure to see a surge in amazing artwork and fanfics that will definitely piss off the antis. they clearly have nothing better to do than broadcast their hatred for a ship for the whole world too see, because apparently, the idea of others having different preferences is just too much for them to handle. their pettiness only shows their lack of better things to do 🤭

aaa thank you for your kind words, anon 😭 i'm glad you liked my depiction of utahime in the hospital au. tbh i was a little worried that i might have gone a bit overboard with her character and their banter, but i guess everything worked out in the end 🥹 okay, to answer your question, i tend to listen to specific songs that fit the mood i'm looking for when i write my gjhm scenarios. sometimes, i even find a song and base a scenario around it, like a little writing prompt 🙂↕️ music really helps set the tone and bring the characters and story to life.
like my first love au, i was literally listening to 'first love' by utada hikaru on repeat. the song had a big influence on the writing and direction of the story, as well as the netflix series >< the lyrics and melody really set the mood that i found myself drawing a lot of inspiration from them 😚
as for the upcoming royalty au, i’m actually planning on writing a thread drabble and creating a visual moodboard to give everyone a little preview soon. just like the ones i did with the first love and hospital aus. i’m excited to see what everyone thinks! 🫶🏻

hi! i haven't read much gjhm enemies-to-lovers fics, but there's one that i can totally recommend. it's called 'the tiger and the songbird' by lunastellaa on ao3 🥹 utahime is a strong-willed princess of a small southern clan and gojo is a powerful warlord here. this fic is an absolute gem! it really takes the enemies-to-lovers trope and runs with it 🤭 i don’t want to spoil too much, but trust me, it’s worth read! 🫶🏻

hi i dont know you but your rs replies showed up in my tl and i just wanted to say ignore all of these hateful people. they are so weird with how they come into your space and get mad when they see your own opinions and preferences. i can never understand how having an unproblematic opinion on a fictional character can make people this angry. theres no reason to attack real people because they dont like who you ship a fictional (not real!) character with. of course they can disagree but why waste energy and come into your rs to cry about a ship they dont like? block and mute buttons are right there but they prefer to interact with content of a ship they claim to hate so much. anyways have a good day/night and dont let these weirdos get to you and stop you from enjoying your ships <3

I'm not japanese but understand enough to probably tell you what jp fandom thinks, at least from what I've seen being in the fandom since 2022.
While pixie ranking and data is relative since it's based on how often artists would upload their creations to the website, you'd notice gjhm is the most popular m/f ship in jjk fandom. And the popularity can also be seen when it's time for con or doujinshi events. goyuu and gofushi would have the most booth/circle in the event and gjhm would get the most out of m/f ships in jjk and that says something about their popularity in jp fandom. Of course they're not as popular as m/m ships but jp gjhm shippers are quite dedicated as well and there are a lot who don't ship gjhm but like their dynamic.
when utahime wasn't included in merch, the forum i was in was enraged, you'd see some expressing it on twitter too but it was worse in the forum especially from jpn and korea.
it's definitely better on jp and kor side because if someone doesn't like the ship, you'd only see a few of them actually voicing it out by quote reposting gjhm shipper's tweet or art unlike the international side of the fandom and every week, you'd see fans wondering where she is.
when utahime appeared on chapter 223, she was trending for a while because fans missed her, we got to see her CT which is really beautiful and it proved some fans' theories, and that she appeared alongside gojo and used her CT to help him. It was a really great and fun day for utahime fans and gjhm shippers that even non shippers' yapping were drown out by how happy people are, even non-gjhm shippers because her ct is really beautiful and SHE was beautiful.
I can say more but I'm afraid it'll be even longer so I'll end it here for now.

the difference in how the ship is received and discussed in the jp/kr fandoms compared to the international side is really interesting. seems like there's a more respectful atmosphere there, unlike some places where antis just can't seem to keep their noses out of others' business
and the way gjhm consistently shows up in numbers during cons and doujinshi events needs to be studied imo. bc this really says something about their dynamic and appeal! and it makes me so happy that, despite the lack of official merchandise, the love for utahime and gjhm remains strong.
oh how i LOVE hearing about the positive reactions when utahime appeared in chapter 223. i hadn’t joined the fandom yet at that time, but seeing her trending and the excitement around her ct must have been such a rewarding experience for the fans 😭 aaa i wish i had joined earlier 💔
