One thing that makes zcl so appealing to me is them being from two different nations with such strong ties to them, too. It's a great opportunity to have them explore each other's culture and play around with cultural misunderstands and such. What makes this even better is that we have two characters here who would be very interested in learning more and are actually very open minded about other cultures. Sharing and combining their nation's traditional food is the epitome of this for me - I love that! Also, Zhongli teaching Childe how to brew tea the liyuen way. Both of them getting used to and learning to love the taste of the dishes from their loved one! I adore how Childe loves especially spicy food and while I can see him just taking it as a personal challenge, I also really love the idea that Zhongli introduced him to the dishes and he took a genuine liking to them. It reminds him of Zhongli and Liyue now. And maybe Zhongli will never like the seafood dishes but he does take a liking to stuff like pierogi and syrniki. It would be cute if it's a slow change in habit/tastes that they aren't even aware of at first but the people around them notice.
awweeeee that's so cute TT !!! bet!!! it's so gradual that zcl don't notice but the people around them do. and it really warms their heart like "aweee look at these lovebirds." i'm sure they have a LOT of new fav dishes from each other's culture, and will sometimes put a new spin on it and see if it tastes better or the same. like zhongli adds some petals of violetgrass to childe's family borscht, and ask childe if it tastes any different. or childe splashing some firewater into jade parcel's soup base. yknow, simple things! this is so domestic and very very sweet TT ahhhhh.

do you think zc would make mashup liyuen/snezhnayan meals? liyuen dumplings with potato soup? taru using chili oil in everything? it would be such a sweet way of sharing their cultures with each other.
OMG THIS IS A GENIUS IDEA !!! Yes they actually would, funny you say this anon because just yesterday I was watching a western and chinese fusion soup recipe.... But I didn't connect the dots with ZCL. Taru's new fav thing - putting chili oil in everything even though he can't handle it much. But it burns so good, he can't stop ! And Zhongli, who.... is starting to enjoy eating bread with almost everything. Even though he won't admit it !!!! I have a silly thought, snezhnayan pancakes with chili oil. I know, it sounds terrible. But I have a feeling these two idiots would love this so much. It's their new fav breakfast. Plus I have an uncle who actually suggested me to eat pancakes with a mango pickle ??? So the combo can't be that bad.

Well... I'm not sure if you meant by hoyoverse as in hoyo twitter or hoyo app, but I'm afraid the only way you can avoid seeing hate on your TL is by muting certain blogs :/ or just move away from twitter. Luckily, I haven't seen a lot of discourse about zc or zcl... except for a few times here and there, but I just go back to doing my own thing... chilling with the other sweet zc and zcl community friends.

Ah yes. Zhongli looking at the artifacts and childe looking at his bf, both saying "beautiful" but directed at completely different things.
Here's another idea tho, zhongli paints childe. It's a soft moment. Zhongli has to keep telling his bf to sit still but childe literally cannot because
1) his back is starting to hurt
2) he can't keep the same expression on his face because zhongli looks so gorgeous while being in work mode and he can't help but admire his painter.
On the other hand, photographer zhongli and model childe. HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH

I think we talked a little bit in the server abt this but I’m still hung up on zcl neighbors/pianist au… I saw a post forever ago that said “I lived in an apartment above a pianist once. I used to lay on the floor to feel the vibrations. It was so lovely”
Like omg imagine an au where ch has a sketchy, hectic job and struggles with his various identities and the only time he feels truly at peace is when he hears his downstairs neighbor (zl) playing. zl pours himself into every piece he plays… ch laying on the floor to feel the vibrations on the music he really feels reflects a similar struggle to his own is a small moment of peace for him everyday. He doesn’t know anything about his neighbor though… until one day maybe there’s a storm and the power to the elevator cuts out, leaving him trapped with a handsome stranger that chats about his life while they wait for the power to return. Putting such a beautiful face to such beautiful music just amplifies those feelings 😋

Yessss it's so good like ahhhhh Thinking about it makes my mouth water. It would be so fun. Music aus are ngl, hands down the best.
I also think sometimes childe would feel worried if the piano wouldn't play on time once in a while. Likewise for zhongli. He'd be concerned if there wouldn't be a lot of noises coming from above his ceiling. Idk what childe would be doing. Maybe he used to play the violin when he was younger and his downstairs neighbour inspired him to pick it up again. They'd have full on duets or something. Or maybe, childe is just a normal office worker, tired of life. Whenever the piano would play, he'd be like... So relaxed. Probably the only time in the entire day he feels JOY.

There's a lot of hate for zcl based on it being "old" or not fed by hoyo enough, you're lucky you're not seeing all the hate. It's not just personal preference, they're just bullying people for liking it period.

Genshin fans will really and gaslight people that there's no reason to ship zcl just bc its "old", when a lot of the same stuff people go nuts over their ships today was also used for zcl when it was "new". This mindset is so baffling to me.
Listen, I'm the type of person who is like, ship whatever you want. It's none of my business what ships you like or dislike. As long as no one is coming up to my face to say "zcl sucks" for whatever reason and completely unprompted. Personally, I don't think I've ever met such genshin fans so far.
As for the "old ships" uhhh features being used for "new ships"....it isn't anything new either. A lot of fandoms do that. Whatever makes you go crazy and fangirl over fictional characters, good for you! Though deterring someone from shipping "old ships" or "certain characters" doesn't sit right with me. Let people ship whatever they want, you know? It's just fictional. It shouldn't matter much.
