Is the voice in your head always the same volume?

I guess. It doesn't have a volume because I'm not really 'hearing' it, so to actually 'hear' it more loudly doesn't make sense to me. I can't think of a time when I thought my internal voice was screaming at me, or whispering for that matter. I can think of times when it seems sarcastic to me, but that's because I'm verbally abusive to myself. Since your internal speech is a prediction of external speech, maybe people who shout when they speak more often than I do feel like the voice in their head shouts sometimes. I've still never experienced anything like that. Racing thoughts? Sure. Thoughts that seemed like I was shouting in my own head? No.
