What do you all think to the idea that any URLs containing underscores _ can never be claimed? Some people might want to not worry about the claim rules and by having a slightly less sought after URL, this could be a nice solution.

I genuinely think that's a good idea, it would be a load of stress off many user's backs especially with how many pour a lot of time into graphics and layouts.

oh my days this scared me but that aside. Yes I think this is pretty useful since everyone using rentry is going wild right now , hopefully the drama dies down.

I'm not familiar with how this stuff works, would you be able to add a new character to rentrys url pool and make the unclaimable feature exclusive to those? Since there are some urls featuring those that might actually be sought after (emoticons, certain online people's handles, etc). If not, then yes this sounds reasonable!

i think its a good solution to be honest. i think that for less avid rentry users, its a load off their conscience! ^_^

I can think of some urls with underscores that are still sought after (Emotion ones {o_o, T_T}, words paired with only an underscore if the word is that sought after as a url {love_, love, _love}), ﹠ I think that it isn't too laborious of a task to just edit your urls once a year, so the claim rules don't place much stress on people who are uninterested in interacting with the system in the first place.

Depends, there are URLs that represent emoticons (X_X, T_T, o_o, etc) that are sought after, but I really can't think of anything else that would make this feature unhelpful (Unless someone wanted to claim a username of a popular creator that they're interested in, such as Minecraft or Roblox YouTubers)

I think this is actually a good idea! Most urls I see that are wanted are one worded, canon or media related
