Who's Chimata is based on?

That's more or less everything we know about Chimata.
The only addition I have is that apparently her name was going to be "Ichihime", after the goddess Ichihime and as a reference to the current head of Committee for Comiket, Ichikawa Kouichi. He decided against it cause it was too close to Ichikawa, though.

What is the most difficult translation you've done?

Anything by Personal Color.

Anytime we do a translation of a PC doujinshi, it takes us at least twice as long compared to other authors. From a typesetting standpoint PC's doujinshi also have a lot more dialogue and sfx, so it takes 3-4 times longer to edit.

The Inseparable Key actually drove me mad from how difficult it was to typeset all of the sfx. Though, I'm glad it did, as it pushed me to seek help in doing sfx and now our sfx are much much better thanks to the help of Weekly Everyday (https://x.com/Weekly_Everyday)

Hey Richard, do you have any idea what's going on with KFT?
I tried to look up the person behind the character designs and story but apparently they had a fallout?
Can't seem to find any of their doujin anymore either (or maybe I searched the wrong place)

The character designer as well as main animator, Antares, had a falling out with the project lead, Keisen.
While Antares has since deleted their Pixiv account, you can still find some of their works for sale on DLsite.

Are you also an avid book reader in general or it's just strictly things related to Touhou?

Avid reader in general.
But not books. I mostly read using my computer or my phone. That said, I do read a lot of comic books and fanfics through online readers and pdf files.

Since baseball was introduced to Japan in 1872, it's entirely possible for the sport to have spread to the region that would eventually become Gensokyo, which was only sealed off by the Great Hakurei Barrier in around 1885 by popular consensus.

That said, unfortunately I am unable to provide any more information on this matter, as I have little familiarity with DA METS.

is there a guide on how to represent all the sounds in katakana when transcribing languages other than English?

I'm afraid I can't help you in regards to this. While Japanese has a romanization system when it comes to converting Japanese into Latin alphabet, it's very much focused on how English speakers would parse the sounds.
