As far as my own case, I wouldn't think so.

My life for a while was more online than not, and the same went for my dating prospects. I don't really have a story to tell about that, the relationships I had before I met my current girlfriend are... nothing I enjoy recalling. I personally didn't use any dating or matchmaking sites or... actually, hm...

MMOs don't inherently qualify as online dating, I don't think... ₍ ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ₎

In any case, it's just a tool. Practically, it's massively expanded the number of potential connections you can make, even if that dating pool's still an inch deep. Making connections and making them last is still up to the people involved no matter how you go about it.
