I'm sorry you read nasty comments but you can't generalize the entire fandom because of one group of people, the majority here are nice, respectful and like you
I'm sorry you get generalized but when you're experiencing the fandom the way I am, it's hard to feel like it's a safe space. I can't Say anything without getting insulted, I can't take a few days of a break without people calling me useless, I can't talk about a member too much or too little, I can't make jokes, I can't tweet too much or too little, I've been told to end my life countless amount of times by this fandom, I've had someone tell me I should have died in a tragic accident, I've had people being racist, homophobic, straight up rude, I've had people being condescending, I've had people accuse me of sending myself hate, and saying I'm too mentally ill to Be on twitter bc I was reacting emotionally to hate, I've had people insult my relationship, people are also doing the same to my boyfriend, seeing people being horrible to eli is also really fucking horrible, people acting like they know me when they don't, people mad I don't follow them back or reply to their messages, etc. and this is in the year that I've been in this community. So I'm sorry anon, I Know there's people who like me but I will call this fandom toxic when in my experience this is what I get treated as.

At no point did I mean to be disrespectful to your orientation and if I was, I apologize, I just think it's disrespectful to make assumptions and joke about it, especially when you don't know anything, I read some comments today from this fandom that went beyond the point of joking, so that's why I said to be more careful
I am my own person. Talk to me based on what /I/ said and not a hoard of people. You’re putting the responsibility of what the fandom is saying on me. If I had said anything out of the lines like sincerely speculating sure I would apologize but that’s not what I was doing ever. In fact, All I Said yesterday was pretty much this where I specifically even said “he could or could not be”but the hate I’m getting right now is beyond limits. not liking assumptions about someone's orientation doesn't mean hate queer people, I respect, I just mean don't make any assumptions or jokes about it isn't cool
u just glossed over the fact that the Whole reason I was even talking about it was bc someone was in eli’s retrospring being mad saying “he’s not gay!” and assuming he’s straight- which again, Is an orientation. and youre targeting queer people who see queer behavior and Say that it is, mostly light-heartedly. Especially in a heteronormative society, people acting like being associated with queerness is wrong gets on my nerves. You and I both don’t know their specific labels of course but that doesn’t mean queer fans can’t point out when they’re Being Openly Queer. Would you be this mad about people saying they’re not gay?
