Is Reiji a rat? Is Naz named after Nazrin? (Nazrin is a mouse, not a rat.)
Yes, Reiji was one of my first pair of rats! He was an energetic little explorer, a polar opposite to his brother. Incidentally he was named after the character in Gundam Build Fighters.
My memory of the matter is fuzzy, but I believe Naz is short for Nazlando, a name she invented for a harpy OC when she was a teenager? Perhaps we can get her to confirm on Fedi...
Faveourite topic/subject learnt when you was in education
I really enjoyed A-Level Media Studies, both analysing media and producing it. I even carried that enthusiasm into university. But the further I got into my course the more I realised that it wasn't something I really wanted a career in. I much prefer partaking in media as a hobby rather than a job.
You just got posted! The entire you... However you have to write the alt text on yourself. What would you write?
Do rats bite?
Rats CAN bite, yes. But for an average rat it wouldn't be without good reason. The only time a rat has bitten one of us with actual intent was when Reiji was overly hormonal and was still very angry from a fight. So usually only when something is wrong. A serious bite can bleed a lot, I believe Naz still has a small scar from that.
Link and Cid don't bite, but if you tickle them too hard they play back with their teeth, and they often give things exploratory nips, including body parts.
Oh no, I instantly forget all my favourite things when I'm asked like this!
I'm tempted to say Godzilla: King of the Monsters, mainly because it's exactly the kind of kaiju movie I wanted so badly as a kid. It's not perfect, and some of the human characters are extremely irritating. But the battles are huge and impactful, and nothing beats Godzilla and Ghidorah throwing down using modern special effects!
What is something that you are very "snobish" about, ae in youll have but only at a high standard?
I'm not sure if this counts, but I vastly prefer my anime subbed over dubbed. I'm the sort who likes to enjoy media in as close to their intended format as possible, and I often find dubbed voice acting a bit stilted and unnatural.
Of course, the Japanese audio is probably unnatural too, but I don't notice as a non-native speaker!
Do u play rythm games, if so what is your faveourite one to play
That previous anon is.. interesting to say the least. Its great youre coming to that conclusion with gender and such! (Idk if that sounds weird lul)
Faveourite cat breed
Why did you give up on calling yourself cis? Cis people can question their gender as much as they like, it does not make them not-cis.
A pretty odd way to ask this if I'm honest.
You've kind of answered it yourself frankly. I have questioned my gender quite a bit already, and now I've gotten to the point where I've realised that I must not be cisgender if I've been thinking about it for so long. I wouldn't call it "giving up" on anything; rather I'm finally accepting a possibility that I've been avoiding for a long time now.
What was the first movie you saw in theaters?
I think it was either The Jungle Book, Snow White or Bambi when I was still in single digits. Local cinema was rerunning a lot of old Disney movies. Fun fact, because I saw them in the cinema as a child, I didn't realise how old any of these Disney animations were until I was in my teens and I was SHOCKED!
If you're really a bard... what college?
Having not played a Bard in actual D&D I don't have a good handle on the different colleges. But my Tav in Baldur's Gate 3 is a College of Valor, and since I'm trying to play her as close to my own whims as possible I guess it would be the same for me too. I'm a creature of versatility, which is why that college spoke to me. Plus I enjoy being able to weird Harold. :3
What are some reasons NOT to have rats as pets?
There are many reasons to be honest. I'll try and rattle off a few quickly in sections.
They can take up quite a bit of space, both the cage and a decent free roam area, which leads into the second point: to really look after them you need to commit some time to give them a decent amount of time out of the cage each day, which does eat into your free time if you have a full time job.
They scent mark quite a bit, including on you if they run on you a lot, and some of them will try to chew on things they shouldn't, or try to get places you don't want to. They're natural explorers which is cute, but you have to keep an eye on them when they're out.
Lastly are health concerns. Vet bills can mount up depending on what ailments they get. And as prey animals they instinctively try to hide illness and injury, so sometimes by the time you notice they're unwell they can already be spiralling. Which leads into the final big point, which is a deal-breaker for a lot of people: they don't live very long. Two years on average, three if you're lucky. None of ours have made it to two so far, and having to say goodbye so often can be very hard.
Why rats? I mean they are cute but how did you decide to have rats specifically as friends?
My wife had rats when she was a kid, and a friend of ours had some a while back that I was obsessed with. Naz always had so many fun memories to share with her rats, so I knew if we were going to get pets, I was going to insist she get to have that experience again. And I'm so glad that's what we did.
