Nah. They used to drill a hole in a mini bread and fill it with a sausage. A sandwich is two white toast slices with filling in between. Mechanically the two could not be more different. But taste..well when you are unlucky both taste just like ketchup.

No, a hot dog is a hot dog, nothing more or less. If you took one out of a pack of Oscar Meyers and put it on a table without a bun and asked an 8 year old what it was, they would call it a hot dog. QED
