No. I think the things that were meant to be heard might have been more hurtful in certain instances.

My 'girlfriend' and her roommate - it was the first night I slept over there and they thought I was asleep and she basically went on about how I was only going to be a fling and I would 'do nicely' for now

Yes, one of my grandmothers saying to my other grandmother how she loves all her grandchildren , but no one will ever match the love she has for her first. (I was her second)

Yes. People are not necessarily more honest when they assume you do not listen, but they are often much more rude and cruel expressing their honest opinion.
