At what point in their/her life does a woman become matronly? Is being labeled as “matronly” an insult?

i’ve only heard it in the term of matron of honor, which is only if you are a maid of honor but already married? idk. I looked up the term and I personally would not want to be called a conservative old women lol.

I don't think of it as a particular age or anything - it's more of a mindset or attitude, like I know 23 year-olds that I might call matronly...and I don't really look at it as an insult personally, I think the 'insult' part comes from a society that prizes youth in women
